Hmmm my invites say together with their families.... but his mother is helping so we said families... Is it really formal? You could put "your presence has been requested at the marriage of ____________ & _____________-" and leave that stuff out about families and such... and as for the no kiddies... on the RSVP just state _____ Adults attending. That's how we worded some. Others of ours say _______ Adults _____ Children. As for the invites you could also say "We would like to invite you...."

Check out verseit.com for ideas. There are some ridiculous verses, but there is also some hidden treasures that should be able to help you.

I've attached mine... we put families even though only my parents are contributing...

    You could do:

Bride & Groom request the honor of your presence at their marriage.

Oh Cindy, I love the beginning "because you shared in our lives (etc)" I may have to use that for our invites...it's too perfect.

There are some great suggestions here Smiley laugh

Well since we are writing the entire ceremony ourselves we've been able to take some liberties and FH has agreed to use the Dr. Suess version of the vows. We have decided to incorporate some of Dr. Suess ideas throughout our whole wedding including our invitations. So the wording on our invitations might be a little corny to some, but it's really different and we like it...

    • For your intro, if you aren't including parents you can simply start with a request like Name and Name -
    • For a formal wedding: “request the pleasure of your company”, “joyfully request the pleasure of your company”, or “request your presence”
    • For a casual wedding: “joyfully invite you”, “cordially invite you”, “invite you to celebrate”, or “invite you to share in their joy”
