What to wear to a winter wedding?

The last time I attended a winter wedding, I wore a long sleeve dress that went to my knees (I believe I bought it at Torrid) and knee high dress boots. I wore my jacket because the venue we attended the wedding at had a coat check. I know Amazon also has long sleeve dresses.

For winter weddings I tend to wear darker colors (lots of jewel tones) and thicker fabrics (like velvet)!

First things first (for every wedding I attend) - I think about the formality (dress code if they’ve provided one), time of day, and the location! For example, if it’s an indoor winter wedding you don’t need to worry as much about bare legs.

For a more casual (cocktail attire) winter wedding I’ll pick a short dress in a dark color (dark red, hunter green, purple, black, navy) in a shift dress or wrap dress style! 💜

For a more semi-formal winter wedding, I look at more formal dresses online. You can go short and embellished or start looking at floor length gowns. Then play with your jewelry and accessories to help dress your outfit up or down! ✨

We have been to two cooler-weather weddings recently!

I just dug up the photos and to both, I wore long sleeve dresses and 'interesting' shoes - electric blue satin to one, and wine-red velvet to another! I wore a long, princess-style navy coat with the first, and a black coat and black leather gloves to the other! Here you go...the first dress is velvet, and the second is jacquard, so a little bit shiny/metallic.
