What travel agent did you use? UPDATE

FH and I are both off next Monday and Friday and would like to book our honeymoon. Anyone have good experience with a particular travel agency? We're doing the travel agent route for sure instead of booking ourselves, FH is stuck on using an agency.

That's what the travel agent said! She said it was one of her favorite resorts. I can't wait!

While there's a lot of great information to be had online, we often find that couples spend an average of 30 hours trying to plan their honeymoon themselves.

Travel agents get paid the same way online agencies do-by the hotels, after you've checked out. It shouldn't cost more to use an agent than it does to do it yourself. However, the reason to use an agent isn't because you're looking for a rock bottom rate. Travel agents should be able to provide you with insight into the destination or resort that you won't find on your own, provide you with the ins and outs of the trip insurance, and, most importantly provide you with peace of mind. Additionally, some agencies like our are able to provide you with a "no walk" guarantee. Many couples who book thru online agencies are bumped or walked to other hotels upon arrival, as many online sites sell inventory that is no longer available. Travel agents often have relationships with the hotels that ensure that the hotel you booked will be the place where you'll spend your honeymoon.

As with any industry, there are great agents, and not so great agents. So I would also recommend asking for referrals from others who have used agents, and check out a couple before making a decision.
