I don't know how cool other people will think this is, but FSIL had a chicken nugget bar at her wedding an hour before it was over as a "midnight snack." I get starving when I'm drunk, so I thought it was the best thing ever!

My favorite wedding was a Philadelphia wedding and a string band/mummers showed up. We all got to strut with the mummers on the dance floor. I apologize to anyone who is not from around here and may not know what the mummers are. I can't really explain them but they are a lot of fun.

Not to everybody's taste, but I thought it was fantastic.

There was a wedding in the extended family not long ago where their meal was lovely and elegant, then for the evening reception - lights came down, uplighting came on and there was a bunch of photobooth type props like neon wigs, various comedy glasses including glowstick ones and various other goodies. The pictures look amazing and even the grannies present look to be having an awesome time on the dance floor (mainly sporting glowstick chains and oversized sunglasses)

My SIL just had a guy playing the acoustic guitar at her wedding during the ceremony, that was really nice but i think that the only people that could hear him were in the first few rows.

There was a wedding in New Orleans where they had a painter there with a huge canvas. During the reception he painted the bride and groom then everything else. including guests!

I thought that was the coolest thing, entertainment AND an amazing keepsake!!

It was honestly at ours..the week before the wedding our DJ did seperate phone interviews with DH and I and asked how we felt about the other and what we loved about them, ect and spliced them together...once the bridal party was introduced he led into this 90 second recording of us talking about the other and "introducing" to the guests before segwaying into Thunder Struck. We didn't tell anyone about it and it took people a minute to figure out where our voices were coming from and what was going on. I wish I could play the recording here.... -_-

A biscuit bar at a reception in Texas. It had baskets of hot biscuits and all sorts of things to put on 'em like butter, honey, jellies, jams, peanut butter, gravy, etc.

A couple weeks ago I was at a wedding and after all the bridesmaids walked in, one of them went over and stood with the pianist and violinist and sang as the bride walked down the aisle.

Her voice was beautiful. None of the guests knew it was happening ahead of time.

Maybe not the 'coolest thing' I've seen.. but off the top of my head, one of the nicest touches I can think of.

I didn't go to this wedding but my friend had a caricaturist at hers. I thought that was a cool idea.

The DJ announced that everyone should head outside for the sparkler exit- and then he lit candles and placed them all around the dancefloor- put on the couples favorite song and let the bride and groom have one last dance with the lights off with candles completely alone.

I'm totally stealing that for our wedding.

    Kinsey that sounds amazing.

Our friends had their first dance outside in front of a beautiful lake - near the end of the song fireworks went off (like a gorgeous, long fireworks display) and the song segued into Calvin Harris - it was beautiful, and then awesome lol. Great way to get the party started.

Best wedding ever: when my friend from grad school married his husband, they started the ceremony with the entire Chicago Gay Man's Chorus singing an a cappella version of "If You Like It Then You Should Have Put a Ring on It." They met in the chorus, and was an AMAZING start to their highly personal and touching ceremony.

My friend (who incidentally was my wedding photog) is very musical and was in various bands from high school up to when he got married. During the reception, each band got on stage and he played/sang with them. It was such an awesome and personal touch.

Damn, I go to boring weddings. I can't think of anything cool. We went to a wedding that was on 4 weddings but the cameras and other girls were obnoxious and were distracting. That's the only thing that has really stood out from the weddings I have been to.

My friend had a food truck at the end of her reception. They served mini burgers and fries. It was really cool.

My friend's wedding was in a museum (Henry Ford for my Michigan girls). The dance floor was right underneath a huge WWII-era plane and there were vintage cars all over the place. She also had a coney dog bar for her late night snack.

A wedding with valet parking. When guests picked up their cars at the end of the night, there was a dozen Krispy Kreme donuts box on the dashboard.
