Haha Lydia, to be honest, I think it was a decent perception of their wedding and the couple. What I couldn't stand was the other girls and how I couldn't get into the bathroom because they kept going in there to hide from the cameras.

I've said this before, but what's fake AF is House Hunters. We had other friends on that show and you had to have already bought your home to be considered. They ruined it for me! haha

Lori, that was the first place that we looked into when we got engaged. I wanted it SO BAD. But it was going to be 30k just to walk into the door.

All of the weddings I've been to and probably including my own have been pretty generic and cookie cutter. The only cool thing was when my uncle Terry got really drunk, took off a bow from the chair cover, put it on his head and said he had fashion sense like Lady Gaga.

Oh and at the same wedding there was a zombie bride and groom cake topper with a few "blood" drips down the one side.

The coolest things - photobooths and a live band. Oh... maybe this, when I was younger (maybe in middle school?) my cousin's wedding reception was on a river cruise - that was pretty cool (the three younger cousins, me included, all dressed up in mini sailor outfits (I think it was capris, a striped shirt, and a captain's hat) and danced/sang to "La Bamba").

At my wedding we will be having a live painter. He will be painting our first dance, the background, and probably some guests! This will be a surprise to all of our guests. I hope that everyone will like it. (It'll be like a snapshot of one moment, coming to life on a canvas during the whole reception).

    JennB, that sounds so romantic!

Lori, I've been to the Henry Ford Museum for a convention!

Barbara, I'm so jealous of your merry-go-round. It's one of the few rides I go on at parks.

@JennB HOW is this the second time I have heard about this today when I've never heard of it before and I have been dreaming about doing a 'last dance' alone with FH for YEARS?!

My friends hired a band in lieu of a DJ and they were AWESOME!!! Everyone had an amazing time because of them. Other than that, nothing out of the ordinary and I've been to a lot of weddings.

@JennB - this would be so amazing! It's so sweet -- it might be something that we will do for our own wedding too!

@Sharon&Brad - donuts as a sweet treat at the end sounds delicious!

@Kinsey -- there was a WW user on here last week talking about how she hired a painter to make "live painting" of the wedding, just like you described, incorporating everyone, and all the elements of the wedding into this one tableau. Sounds super awesome!

The coolest thing at a wedding would probably be a taco truck showing up at midnight. Everyone was so trashed, though, that most people passed out before even eating it all -- we were all sleeping at the reception site, in tents (it was a ranch), and just stumbled into our sleeping bags with out to-go boxes lol

What Jenn suggested sounds sooo romantic, but it wouldn't work for our venue...

My friend got married at the Field Museum (in Chicago) and the photo booth was in front of Sue...the bones of a T-Rex! I thought it was awesome because it wasn't the typical photo booth. She then sent us all the pictures in our thank you cards! For those who aren't familiar, here she is...and it was dark so she was dimly spotlighted.

    Me!!!

    Just kidding....

So much to pick from....a wedding at the Bronx Zoo with peacocks following the bride up the aisle (totally unplanned...), and entire pipe and drum band on a loft rooftop in Manhattan....the groom that arrived via helicopter....the couple that arrived in a white Vintage Corvette.....my couple that said their vows on a tugboat in front of the Statue of Liberty..

And then, there was "The Haiku Guys". Look them up. They rock. Just last week!

My favorite was a very formal wedding I attended in downtown Chicago. Bride's family is Italian, groom is from Mexico City. I knew they were incorporating a lot of traditions from both cultures into the evening, but the full Mariachi band playing during dinner was my absolute favorite.

I went to a friend's wedding, and she had the smallest cake. I couldn't figure it out, since there were 150+ guests in attendance. Well, the caterer brought out an refrigerated push cart (it was at the Gardens at Como Park in the Twin Cities), and instead of ice cream from the park, it was filled with individual Dairy Queen ice cream cakes. I'm a huge DQ fan, so I was so excited! They were soooo good!

Mariachi Band. The bride was the daughter of one of my mother's best friends and I was my mom's plus one. Neither the bride or groom was Hispanic and I actually do no think the bride's family knew they were doing this. They had a very formal church wedding followed by a country club reception, then it was like *BAM* a Mariachi Band came from out of nowhere and played almost their entire reception. It was amazing.
