What was your Favorite/Most Memorable wedding gift?

My best friend is getting married in a little over a week. I plan on giving them a cash gift but want to accompany it with something else that will be memorable- some sort of keepsake. So I'm wondering, what keepsake-like, non traditional, non-registry wedding gift did you receive and appreciate most? Or what gift of the sort have you given in the past that you know the couple really enjoyed?

They do not have a registry. I know, please don't get into the etiquette of it here. That's not the topic. If you must know they live overseas (apartment is rented fully furnished) and won't be returning to the states until almost two years from now so they would have no where to keep household items for the future. Their wedding guest list is really small and intimate so everyone who is attending knows the situation and knows that giving them any household items would be pointless. This is why I'm looking for something small and along the lines of a keepsake.

Things Remembered is awesome! When one of my best friends got married, I gave her a gift off her registry for her shower, but I wanted to do something special for her as a wedding gift. I asked ahead of time if she had any specific plans for her wedding pictures, such as an album or frame (I didn't want to get them something her mom was already planning to do). Later on, I specifically asked if I could surprise her and her FH with something before I went completely rogue. I engraved a wedding album from Things Remembered for them. They absolutely loved getting to fill it with their favorite wedding pictures. The album was really nice, too.

There are a few that comes to mind...a picnic basket filled with champagne and other yummy things and a door mat that was customized with our new last name.

The most memorable gift we got was a Costco membership. You can actually buy a gift card at Costco in the amount of their lowest membership.

Can you gift an experience? Is there a cool area near them that you know they would like to explore? We gifted our friends a night at an B&B in a town they like to travel to. We have also booked a hot air balloon ride for friends and given lift tickets at fancy ski resorts for avid skier friends.

I had a very craft aunt put together a scrapbook for us. All we have to do is add the photos and we have a beautiful and personal wedding album.

I'd honestly leave it at money if they're staying overseas. I don't like decor items as gifts because most people don't share my taste in design. Also, I don't put up a Christmas tree (I don't agree with the historical roots of that tradition.) Stick with money as a gift and you'll never go wrong. Are there gift certificates for experiences where they live? Those are good too (movies, dinners, sightseeing passes, etc.)

We received our wedding invitation back -- matted and framed -- from a guest.

Our most memorable wedding gift was $1,000 dollar gift card. AMD my husband's boss paid for our church where we ended up getting married in. And I'm blessed that is where we both wanted. Then I gotten a special personal locket of my grandmother which I lost in 2021 I'm still hurting from losing. And the last one came from my husband breakfast in bed. But nothing se from anyone they have our registries

Perhaps some type of memento from your childhood adventures? Or something that will cause them to reminisce of that period and be thankful for being able to call you their best friend.

For my wedding, my bestie gifted me one super-incomplete sweater she and I did like 15 years prior when we were fooling around with knitting... It had completely faded from my memory, but those feelings came rushing back as soon as I realized what her gift was.

    Truly magical!
