What was your first stressful planning moment?

Ours was destination vs local. I had my heart set on destination. I had Pinterest boards with my dreams for years. But in the end my mom couldn't do the traveling so my new stressful planning moment was where/when/what style/who to include. It was all SO very overwhelming. I eventually consulted with a wedding planner who gave me great advice. I put the thoughts on the back burner for a month and then came back to it with a clear mind. I accepted that I couldn't travel like I wanted - and I was going to have just as much fun locally.

Deciding our date was the hardest!!!!! We had so much to take into account when planning.

Picking the venue. My parents insisted on paying for the venue and I didn't want to spend too much and my fiancé wanted to most expensive venue and so did my parents but I wasn't comfortable asking them to spend that much money. We ended up with the venue everyone wanted even thought I wasn't comfortable with the price.

Trying to figure out our budget

Probably the guest list. I have a HUGE family and he doesn't. So a small wedding isn't really much of an option and I know that's what he wants. We are doing a smaller ceremony and a large reception though. Compromise?

Budgeting for sure

100% the guest list. We have a limited amount we can invite for the space at the venue and had to stay at 50, FH had our list up to 120 at one point. After talking with the venue 70 is the absolute max, so we did a cut and FH knows he cannot add anyone else. I love him but this definintely tested my patience lol.

I feel like there were things that annoyed me but I would say the first actually stressful thing was having a vendor not respond to me for a very very very long time. I had the pastor of the church venue not respond in so long. Literally three months of no response.

Rsvp’s!! People just figure if they don’t send it back it means you know they’re not coning(!?) Or surprise surprise you start following up with no responders and they say “oh ya for sure we’ll be there! (Unless “insert reason” comes up) And my most favorite 2 are “ya we’re coming with 3 extra people and can I let you know in a week or so?”

When we first started planning my fiance insisted that the centerpieces have to be a certain way instead of having a discussion about it, this caused a big stupid fight for no reason.

Choosing the bridesmaid dress. so many opinions and thoughts... I couldn't even take them all to look at dresses I choose the dress I wanted and had them custom made for each girl.

My first stressful moment was buying a dress I was totally in love with and my future MIL saying she hates it and I'm the only one who will love my dress. I wanted to elope to spite her but more so to get away from the unnecessary stress of wedding planning. But here we are only 32 days away from my wedding day and she and I are best of friends. It just be that way sometimes, lol!

Music of all things. I was not willing to pay hundreds of dollars for a DJ. Luckily we got a family friend to do it for free:-)
