What was your wedding budget?

And are you managing to stay under or are you over it? FH and I set a budget of $10,000, and we're closer to about $12,000 because we spent more on catering and an open bar than planned. We both agreed we'd rather spend a little more to make our guests happen.

Without knowing our final guest count until next year, right now the budget is about $35k with 155 invited guests.

We didn't set a budget per se. We figured for 100-125 people including everything wedding related we would try not to go over 25k.

We said we wanted to stay between $10,000 and $15,000. Looks like we are definitely going to be closer to $15,000...but I don't think we will have to worry about going over that.

Aiming for $5,000 for 10-15 guests in Vegas, which is doable. My challenge is wedding dress shopping when I am trying to lose weight (having to potentially add in alteration prices) and honeymoon expense (the $5,000 included honeymoon but that may not be possible with the vison we have).

So far we are looking at roughly $7,500 for 30 people with a ceremony and reception in Vegas. That's including flights, hotels for almost a week and it's all inclusive so they provide food, alcohol(extra charge), flowers, cake, limo service, photography, videography and a dj. If we would have stayed in Ohio it would have been more lol

Jesus I couldn't imagine paying as much as most these women are. That's enough to put a down payment on some property.

Our budget was around 5,000 for about 90 people. We're closer to 7,000 I think which I am ashamed of there's way better things to have spent that money on.

We live in Montana in a medium sized city just for reference.

We never set a hard budget like a max number, we just picked and chose vendors based on prices and what we could afford. We had help from FH parents and my parents who all offered to pay for different vendors. We are coming in around $20K for 130 guests in Northeast Florida.

Ours was about 10k for what we planned to be a small wedding. Max 100 guests. However, since we both come from big families, this was near impossible without causing problems. So my FH's parents decided to help out with the venue and drinks (and other small stuff). So even though our budget stayed the same, technically I guess it came out to maybe 18k? Guesstimating how much they will be paying. Of course our guest list doubled as well which I was not too happy about but I do want everyone to enjoy themselves. This is in NYC but we are actually going to outer boroughs, Queens and Brooklyn, and we are having a buffet style catering which cut down costs considerably while still keeping things professional. Also, I'm not big on flowers, so really only planning on getting bouquet and church decorations.

As long as people are not making unwise financial decisions or taking on debt, people should not be shamed for spending money as they see fit. There's no reason someone can't have a large wedding AND buy property if they have the means to do so.

$9K for around 80 people and so far we're right on track. We spent a bit more than we had planned on a few things, like the photographer and the DJ, but we also saved a lot of money when it came to my dress (about $1K under budget), so we're doing well so far. Fingers crossed that it stays that way!

Like some others, I don't have a budget either. I just looked at what it would cost for what I wanted and set my budget based on that. I'm planning to spend $40-45k in Chicago for 80 people. This is with many "budget friendly" choices and an expensive city. I'll spend another $5k on our honeymoon most likely. Family isn't paying for anything.

We’re in the Chicago suburbs and will be spending around $29K so far for 150 guests. This doesn’t include rehearsal dinner or honeymoon. With those, we’re about $40K.

We have a budget of 10K for ~150 (TBD), in a rural town in the south. Looks like I might come in just under budget. I suppose we'll see.

I'm spending $26k for 60 people. We are paying for it all ourselves, we started off at $20k, but does not include rings or honyemoon. We are hosting all guests for a weekend, including all meals. We will likely go over budget, as little things start adding up.

We have a budget of $30,000. Our venue (which includes food and beverages) takes up a huge chunk of our budget at almost $20,000. We ended up spending more than we originally planned on some of our vendors (and my dress oops! Smiley laugh ), but we've been smart about everything else and so far we are right on target. We might end up going over a little due to some last minute decor items.

We are inviting 148 guests and our budget doesn't include rings; gifts for wedding party, parents and each other and the honeymoon.

Edit: and this doesn't include the rehearsal dinner (FMIL is hosting)
