What was your wedding budget?

And are you managing to stay under or are you over it? FH and I set a budget of $10,000, and we're closer to about $12,000 because we spent more on catering and an open bar than planned. We both agreed we'd rather spend a little more to make our guests happen.

We initially thought we'd stay around $15,000, but once we started planning/booking it's looking like close to $23k for ~120 people in Charlotte, NC.

Our original budget was $100k for 200 guests. But guest list is climbing towards 250 and we decided to have a welcome party instead of a rehearsal dinner so that added on $9k. Hoping to keep it under $115k but we will see! In Carmel, CA so everything is extremely expensive!

Our budget is $8,500 for 135 guests. Well. $10k if you include the dress my father gifted me as my birthday and Christmas present for 3 years.

So far we're sticking to it with ease! (Central MN)

    For real.

Also, I don't understand the whole $30k (that seems to be the average number associated with this statement) is a down payment thing. Where the heck can you actually buy a decent house for $150k? From a quick zillow search because I'm curious, there are 30 properties for that price in my city of 1.6 million, and they are all in areas I would not go to after dark.

I know property prices are lower in other parts of the country, but generally, people having more expensive weddings live in more expensive areas, where $30k will get you an extreme fixer upper in a bad part of town, if that.

I’m in Billings and I think we are close to $12,500. My original thought was MUCH lower but we already have the house and figured we could splurge on our one day. While I see no shame in them spending what they have, I can’t even imagine having the ability to spend that much!

I'm all for others spending it. I wasn't trying to shame anyone. I wish I had the money to have a big wedding with that kinda budget. It's just amazing to me. I'm ashamed of how much I've spent not because we're going into debt or anything but because I feel guilty spending this much on one day.

I mean this is an extremely early estimate since I haven't put any payments down yet but I think it will be 19-20k for 125 people in upstate NY including honeymoon, rings, dress, grooms attire and anything else you can think of. At first our budget was $5000 before I understand how cruel the real world actually is lol...*sigh*

Mine was 5 grand and were at 6500. Sometimes the little things are worth spending a little extra.

We're budgeting $7500 for 200 guests. But we're not in a high cost area so that helps keep the budget down.

Well... we were intending not to let the cost go over $5k for 75 people (including wedding party), but alas we are about $1k over. Honestly, where we went that far over was my wedding band- or enhancer. I would have been entirely happy with a simple band, but when my FH and I went shopping to LOOK at bands, he saw the enhancer and decided it was the one he wanted to get me (and did not seem he would be happy with any other choice- lol). So, we completely blew our budget, but the enhancer is very pretty and does sit the best with my engagment ring out of all the bands we looked at.

Huge low-budget bride here, but oh life 😂

orignally we wanted no more than a $5k wedding. And then about a 2-3k honeymoon.

Getting married in September, and am trying to save closer to $6,500 for the day itself, our honeymoon is $2,500 for the honeymoon.

I won’t know final numbers until the invites are sent and RSVPs are received, but it’s looking it will end up about $6,500 for the day of. We are inviting 75 people, but are expecting closer to 50 with OOT invites. (Budget is planned for the 75 though)

keep in ming this $9kish includes:

    -honeymoon
    -rings
    -photography
    -catering
    -$1,000 bridal outfit
    -diy flowers

    and more!!

$60k for 100 guests, but that also includes rehearsal (new years eve party) and brunch the day after. It also includes lodging for 24 members of our family and wedding party. Will probably end up closer to $70k though. It's a destination wedding in Key Largo.

On top of this, we are closing on our house at the end of this month. It's going to be an expensive year!

We are looking right around $22k including rings and lodging for our wedding and mini moon. We have 40 people for a DW in Key West.

I started out hoping to spend $15-18k for 180-200 guests in the Boston area. Boy was I in for a shock about how much things cost! Due to the size and closeness of our families, cutting the number of people was not an option, so I set out to figure out some thriftier options (finding a venue that allowed us to bring our own caterer, bartenders, and alcohol, doing our own flowers/decorations, etc). Not including rings or the honeymoon, I would guess we are coming in close to if not slightly over $30k.

Our budget was originally 25k, with the preference to stay under 20k. However FH's mom has offered to pay for things or percentages of things and so our budget has increased to nearly 30k

We're at about 18k now, and that includes a condo we rented out for the groom and groomsmen. It's a DW and they wouldn't be able to attend if they had to pay travel and board.

My wedding will be in Minnesota in the fall. We are spending about $16k for about 130 people. This includes a 4 course plated meal, fully hosted premium bar, dessert table, late night snacks all the flowers and decor. Basically everything ect besides the honeymoon.

OMG we are exactly the same. My original budget was 20k. My budget is now 30k. I have budgeted for 100 guest. Ended up with a guest list of 129. I am praying for lots of nos. I have quite a few OOT people. You just made me nervous with your final count. We do have funds to cover the extra guests. But Geesh.
