What wedding registry did you go with and why?

Debbie, on June 5, 2021 at 9:53 AM Posted in Registry 0 10
We’re doing destination wedding, I dont want to push gifts let alone pricey ones. But I love the idea of crate and barrel. My fiancé says Amazon :/

You could do both! I have one at crate and barrel, bed bath and beyond, target, and Amazon! The Amazon one for me personally is just because the luggage set we wanted was discontinued from the other stores otherwise we’d just have the other 3. We also have a honeymoon fund. It’s definitely normal to have multiple registries especially if you like different things from different stores. It gives people the option to shop where they are comfortable and what’s close to them. Not everyone has an Amazon account. Register for the things you want! Even if it’s a destination wedding, people will still want to gift you things and having options for them makes it easy!

There’s nothing wrong with registering at multiple stores! You can do Amazon and Crate and Barrel both.

Do you know if anyone is going to throw you a shower? That’s where we got physical gifts, and then cash at our destination wedding.

Amazing. Had no idea you could do several! So did you pass on Zola and my registry? I thought those were great because of one stop shop but was looking at some outdoor furniture prices and swear they are much cheaper at other stores dor same brand. Did you add several registry URL’s to the website or find a way to consolidate a url? Sorry and thank you. - this is such a great idea !

    Thanks Kyle! Blowing my
Mind right now Smiley smile had no idea. My sister thought of combining g my bridal shower with bachelorette party and it’s on my bday lol. Three birds one stone I suppose. I still am not sure how the shower works, who gets invited. Sounds like ppl might get multiple showers in some cases?

You can have as many registries as you want. We went with Target and Bed, Bath, and Beyond, and then we did a Disneymoon fund (for experiences only, the trip/food/etc. was paid for) and put the urls on our website, so people could visit each of them if they wanted.

You may end up with multiple showers. I only had one, but some people have one from their MIL, one from their Mom, and one from the bridesmaids. Just remember when coming up with a guest list for the shower that *everyone* invited needs to be invited to the wedding.

I wouldn't recommend combining your bachelorette and shower, unless you want something very tame for your bachelorette - at the shower you're going to sit and open gifts in front of everyone, not standard bachelorette fun.

Thanks, Becky. That’s interesting and helpful. I think it’s all gotten convoluted for me unfortunately. My sister threw out idea of combining all snd it’s essentially going to be my five bridesmaids and four other friends as invitees. I didnt know better and said sure why not. Is a shower usually a bigger party of bigger widespread attendees? If that’s the case I guess I limited my shower big time. My mom passed and his is cross country so I think that’s where some of the disconnect is doe shower. Mine will be limited to the 10 ppl also coming to bachelorette party.

Yes we have our wedding website on The Knot and it allows you to add the different URLs so people can find your registries from there! It makes it so convenient! And people can rsvp on your website!

My family is pretty spread out, so my mom didn't hold a shower for me, but my MIL did (and invited my mom and SIL even though neither of them was able to attend), and the shower included his aunts, his grandpa's girlfriend, great aunts, cousins, kids (the little girls), etc. We ended up with an age range of 18 months to 90 attending (probably about 35 ladies in the end). It was a tea party theme, there were finger foods and teas, and I opened presents. Some people have games - I am grateful they didn't do games lol. We had to travel to my shower, as it was in IL and we were in AL, but it was fun.

A bachelorette is generally your friend group who go out for a day/night/weekend and celebrate. We had penis straws at mine - so not a "grandma-friendly" event unless grandma is super cool lol.

Target and William Sonoma. Just depends on what you guys need/want to upgrade. Nothing wrong with multiple registries but we limited to two to keep it simple for guests.
