What wedding trend do you hate?

Erin&Mark2015, on April 11, 2014 at 6:59 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 157

My vote? anything burlap, or rustic or the brooch bouquet.. i just can't get into it and I think they are overdone… but then again trends seem to do that, thats why they are a trend! Smiley smile

The "Here comes your bride, uncle Joe" signs. It's like REALLY?!? Is that what happens next in a wedding ceremony?? The bride walks down the aisle? I didn't know! Thank GOD someone thought of strapping a huge stupid sign to a child and sending him down the aisle so that we're all aware of what happens next.

    I foresee this getting dicey.

Lol kristen i am doing the sign!!!

I hate all the additional stuff to be original: unity candle, sand ceremony, plant ceremony, wine box ceremony etc

...lol I shall not be offended; but...I am one of those who's using the rustic vintage as part of my theme, and I do love my burlap hahaha

It's not for everyone; the thing about trends is, the person who decides to run with them must make them distinctive and unique. I know my decorations are going to be singular because they'll be hand-made...

I'm going to agree with OP. Burlap just doesn't look classy to me. I don't mind vintage but "rustic" just isn't my thing

I love my lace romantic rustisness. I dislike when people work to hard to be "unique" I think if it doesn't happen naturally or it isn't personal it just seems cheesy. I want to feel like I'm a wedding, not a performance.

I don't like sand ceremonies...but that's because the only thing I think of with that is how awful it'd be to pack up the jar of sand every time I move from one place to the next and the possibility of it breaking.

I'm also not a fan of burlap, rustic, etc and I think it's just weird to get married in a barn. I know they can be pretty, just not my thing. Also don't like photo booths. I don't want to offend, so I'll just leave it at that. I'm sure there are plenty things I'm doing that people can't stand (like the garter and bouquet toss I know is something people aren't too fond of anymore).

I don't think anyone should get offended and I'm definitely not trying to offend anyone!!!!

Everyone has their own tastes and styles that;s why you can't knock anyone and say it's "wrong" or not "okay", because its someone's style.. just like clothes, it's like if you don't like a fashion trend, but someone else does, you can't knock it.. Im sure people think my gatsby inspired is overdone.. i don't want anyone to get offended, I just want to have a fun conversation Smiley smile

I keep reminding myself that even though I've seen ______(insert one; converse sneakers, photo booths, candy buffets, here comes whoever signs, burlap, peacock themes, lawn games) most of the guests at the wedding haven't, and they'll probably love it.

I'm tired of hearing about rustic barn lace burlap mason jar weddings. I think weddings should be fancy and have a sense of elegance to them.

Mason jars have nothing fancy or elegant about them.

Mason jars are for canning preserves or for drinking out of only when you have no clean dishes and don't want to wash any.

I am guilty... going to have a brooch on my bouquet. I dislike stupid ring pillows. I think they are cheesy.

Photo booths. Don't hate them, just don't see what the fuss is all about.
