My vote? anything burlap, or rustic or the brooch bouquet.. i just can't get into it and I think they are overdone… but then again trends seem to do that, thats why they are a trend!

I find anything that Or ago says ridiculously silly, cheap, and downright stupid.

I dislike people's insensitivity to allow the bride and groom to be as unique and personal as they want to be during their nuptials. The ultimate goal is to get married and stay married. If they like balloons and burlap or mason jars and marriage signs go with it. This is your time to shine and if others don't really like it, oh well. Let's be respectful of everyone's unique and creative ideas. The trend I hate more than anything is DIVORCE especially after all of this elaborate planning.

I dislike making everything a personalized memento. We don't need a unity candle with our names and dates on it that I will have to dust all the time. I figure our guests don't want to hold onto some wedding favor with our names and date on it either. So our favors will be edible, and any decor items that might be used in our home or resold won't be personalized. The best part of not personalizing is being able to gift it to another family member or close friend. My parents are giving us the cake server my great aunt had used at her wedding and then gave to my parents for them to use at their wedding. Plus we have a whole marriage to create mementos, not just one day.

For all of you lace and burlap wedding ladies... I love it! We aren't having it at ours, but I jumped on the chance to host my FSIL's shower because she's doing country/rustic, and I wanted to DIY with it. Smiley smile

I can't stress enough this isn't a thread i started for people to get offended just because another person expresses their dislikes or tastes! stop taking it so personal! It's just someone's taste and preference! Are you going to get offended because someone doesn't like ketchup?? It's just grown people talking!

@FutureMrs.Matthews, does that mean a cat has been successfully cooked and is ready for serving at a diner or something? "CAT'S UP!"

SHUT UP PETA, I wouldn't cook a cat.

Not sure this counts but the whole NO KIDS at reception, I guess to each their own but they shouldn't count as full price for one and two to me they are the most fun at weddings... Going out and dancing the night away!

@Nina - Thank you!!! I am all for kids at a reception. I understand why some people don't want them there, but I won't be excluding children BECAUSE they are children. I just have to make the "no third cousins" rule to keep our numbers down!

Giant bouquets of flowers... everywhere... why are we ripping them out of their natural state, shove them in a vase for a few hours, and throw them away? It is also an eye sore. Especially when you are trying to talk to someone across the table and the 3ft tall vase has a gaudy gathering of flowers 2ft in diameter! Also, allergies!
