My venue had to be a more intimate space that I could easily customize! it also had to be indoor because the wedding is in summer in TX. Another thing that was important when deciding was how close it was to the things I needed. The venue is 30 mins away from where i live, a mile from 3 different hotels for out of town guests, and 15 mins away from my hair and makeup vendor!

Our ceremony is at the hisotic
Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse and then folks will take a little trolly over to Out Of The Blue which is like a large glass boathouse overlooking yachts on the intracoastal

Pur venue had to include both ceremony and reception. Also, be able to seat 160 guests and of course our theme, rustic chic. So some exposed brick

This was one of our must haves too! Along with hiring our own bartender and not having a “cookie cutter” wedding venue. It’s at an art museum!

Same!! Our ceremony will be in the courtyard right outside of the lobby where the reception will be. No traveling! And definitely some exposed brick in both locations because why not? Lol great for photo ops!

I didn’t really have a list, but I guess i wanted our venue to have something unique.
We found a space with exposed brick and beams. And the hallway has original hardwood from the early 1900s.
    And nothing rustic.
It also had to be able to have all the tables and the dance floor I didn’t want to have to move anything around
I also liked separate cocktail hr and reception spaces.
My venue has all of those

The must haves for us were being in the water, good outdoor and indoor spaces, and ceremony and reception space all at the same venue!

I needed to have a space where I could get married outside with an amazing view. Then I also needed to have a place with a good reception room.

The fiancee required a good dressing room (lol)

We wanted a one venue for both the ceremony and the reception, couldn't be a hotel / generic event hall. I wanted a little character to show off CO.

I wanted something all inclusive and I wanted to be able to afford a nice package for our guests. We got there and more, including a bridal suite and day of coordinator

Our venue is my husband's aunt's barn. We got a heck of a discount on it (normally around $4k and includes a LOT of decorations and whatnot, for $1k) and the help of not only his aunt who owns the venue but his grandma who has a very successful wedding planning business. The venue is beautiful and though it was affected by hurricane Michael, she is not letting it stop her. The barn is almost completely rebuilt already and she's green bringing in trees and flowers to get it back to its former glory. I'll be happy just to get married with family and friends and enjoy the day =]

My ideal venue had to be beautiful enough so that it did not require much in the way of decor.

Indoors, one location, ample parking, great food and drinks, staff, furnishings, and already existing decor, overall open space and not sectioned off, has had serious parties and had no chance of a party being shut down due to noise (this happened to a friend's wedding).

It ended up being a restaurant and it was so perfect in every way.

Love it!! So glad you were able to find the perfect venue that had everything you wanted! Sounds like a beautiful venue! That's so convenient that there was a hotel right next door!

I am actually still in the process of finding my venue as we are doing a DW in FL in June of 2019. But what it has to have is the beach for our ceremony, enough accommodations and activities for the guests as we will have a few children there, a bridal suite, and it would be great if the venue would allow us to bring in our own food /decorations s to save money.
