What will you do with your phone and personal items on the big day?

Nicole, on May 1, 2021 at 8:59 AM Posted in Planning 0 18
It just occurred to me that I always have a purse to hold my personal items, but it seems silly and out of place to do so while wearing a wedding dress. What are your plans? Leave them at the hotel? Give to a trusted friend? Carry a clutch? Your dress has pockets??

Oh my gosh, I hadn't even really considered this yet! Great question! I might give my phone/keys to my fiance to hold onto, since he'll have pockets to put stuff in, lol. Curious to see if anyone has any other ideas of what to do instead!

I got a pretty sparkly evening bag to put a few things in and accidentally left it in the car. I missed it for 2 sec when I went to take a pic of my husband dancing with his mom.
I honestly don’t think you’ll even need one. But, some brides leave their essentials in the bridal suite, if their venue has one. I’ve heard of brides putting their bag under the sweetheart table so it’s close but unseen.

I left everything in our cabin. I had my mom hold my lipstick in her clutch. You really don’t need anything else.

My sister is my MOH and I already decided to ask her to carry my reading glasses down the aisle for me when I read my vows. I think I will leave a clutch or small purse sitting on the floor by my chair at the sweetheart table with my phone and emergency kit in it. I am not worried about it being disturbed since it will be hidden under the table cloth.

I left my purse in the bridal suite. I didn't need my phone. Everyone important to me was in the room, and I paid good money for a photographer to take pictures all day. I honestly didn't even retouch my lipstick throughout the night.

For my first wedding I left everything in my bridal suite. I didn’t need my phone in my wedding day as if there was an emergency, plenty of guests had theirs and I can’t image who is be texting lol. I’ll be leaving all of my personal items in my bridal suite again. It was nice to have a break from my cell phone.

I’m putting mine in a small little beaded clutch/purse bought off of Amazon. I plan on leaving it at my sweetheart table most of the night. During the ceremony it will be in a back room with my other stuff

I went with a clutch for mine. I left it in the bridal suite, since my venue allowed us to lock it. I gave my sister the key so she could get in if I really needed something from it.

I just had my ceremony and left my phone and everything in my bridal suite. My husband (then fiancé) and I had to postpone our wedding reception to 2022, but I will probably do the same thing come then. Not sure if I will have a need for my phone that day - I want to enjoy the moment. If I need it, our wedding coordinator can run back and get it for me.

I usually don't use purses, but did actually have one for my wedding to hold our day of essentials. It held my allergy meds, migraine meds, inhaler, chapstick, hotel room key, wallet (just in case), and phone (100% just so I knew where it was and wouldn't freak out about losing it because I would totally do that, though I never actually used it). I handed it off to the coordinators right-hand woman just before walking down the aisle and she had it ready and waiting for me on my chair at the reception. I mainly had it there to curb anxiety (knowing exactly where my phone was instead of spending half the reception trying to remember where I'd left it and if I had actually left it where I thought I left it) and for emergency purposes (asthma attack, sudden migraine, left the check for the DJ at home, etc.) The room key was with me so that a venue staff member could quickly grab it from me during the reception and move all of our gifts into our room so we wouldn't have to deal with anything. My husband wasn't with me in the hotel room the night before, so I was the only one with a room key at that point. Honestly, though, unless you have things you need at a moment's notice (i.e. inhaler) you can pretty much just leave everything in the bridal suite.

I honestly haven't given it much thought! LOL. I've been so focused on other things that what I'll do with my phone has been pretty low on the priorities list. I wasn't planning on carrying any sort of purse; no purse I currently own will go with my dress, and I don't feel like buying another. However, at our venue, there's a small bridal suite for the bride and bridesmaids to hang out. It's kind of small for prep, so we'll do that at the hotel. I'll more than likely leave my phone in that room for the ceremony and pictures, and then maybe I'll get it out right before the reception starts. This is another question for my bridesmaid who got married a few years ago, so she's my go-to for "What do you do when...?" questions. LOL.

We have our entire venue for the weekend. We are staying in an AirBnB on site and the bridal suite is a loft over our reception area. I will probably just leave my personal items there or with a friend (I don't have any bridesmaids).
