What workout goes well with Weight Watchers?

Cassie, on December 18, 2014 at 8:50 PM Posted in Fitness and Health 0 8

Hello ladies!

So I've decided I'm going to start weight watchers at the beginning of the year (got about 20-30 pounds to lose), wedding's 6 months out. I know with some diets, it's best to not do too much intense physical activity, but I don't want to just be skinny, I want to be fit! Would you recommend cardio or weight training? A mixture? Anyone been in this situation or just have advice, I'd appreciate it! Thanks!

I started weight watchers about a month ago. I have been mostly walking with some circuit strength training. I have lost 5 lbs so far.

I'm going back to weight watchers in January. They usually have free registration then. I'm also getting a fitbit to keep track of my activity. I lost 70 lbs on weight watchers once. It's a good program.

Any one of them! Buy yourself a present; a fit bit. The cheapest one is 59.00 and it will really keep yu on track with steps and calorie burn.

You need to do both cardio and weights. WW is a great program; it's balanced, relatively easy to follow and it's a program you can really live with for the long term. Good luck!

I think any type of activity will be good. I did Zumba, light cardio, etc and was able to lose more than 15lbs. Good luck and I'll be following in you're footsteps. I need to lose 25lbs in the same amount of time.

Leslie Sansone for walking, easy on the joints. Get one of her videos that has several mile walks. Once you get comfy with the 1-2 miles you can crank it to the 3, 4 or up to 5 miles.

For something a little harder, Amy Dixon for Women's Health (Her Brealthless and non Women's healthy videos will kick your arse). When my cousin got married, I didn't exercise at all, got the Amy Dixon video and dropped 15-20 pounds in a month.

I'll be on WW in January as well as DH, so we're going to use our elliptical, walk our dogs, and some strength training. I may add in some lunges, and other exercises like that on certain days.
