Hey all! I got married on October 5, 2019 and it was an overall great day. Our photographer was awesome and got our photos back to us within a week! Unfortunately, our videographer has yet to provide our video/raw footage. The contract stated 7 weeks to receive everything and it is now nearly 11 weeks. The Monday after the 7 week date I emailed to make sure it didn't accidentally go to Junk mail and eventually received a message back saying it would be done in the next week or two. I emailed again a few days ago since it is past that "week or two" timeframe and now received a response that is should be done next week because they were busier than expected.
I understand that I got married in the busiest wedding month of the year but I was a last minute booking (less than a month prior) so it seems like they would have altered their contract to accommodate the load they were dealing with (12-16 week turn-around time instead?). I haven't been extremely pushy because I fear the quality of our video might suffer but do mention that the contract stated 7 weeks in every email sent.
Once I do receive the video, should I push to get some reimbursement for the delay? How do I do that? This videographer is a well-known vendor in my area with all 5-star reviews and thousands of followers on Facebook so it's not like I'm trying to track down an acquaintance with a camera. Should I just let it go since I was a last minute booking and 7 weeks is a super quick turn-around time? What would you do?
