What would you do? Wedding dress dilemma

Sara, on June 23, 2021 at 2:46 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 9
Okay long story short my bridal boutique messed up and now my dress MAY get here 3-4 weeks before the wedding no guarantee. It was supposed to be here end of May.

So do I hope it comes in time? Do I take their word even though they broke it twice on when my dress would arrive?
Do I buy the same dress off still white for cheap that I found? Scream because I'm so angry and this 100% their fault and they are making it seem like it is not a big deal? What would you do? I'm only 2 months away and getting very anxious.

Can you ask them to put a rush order on it (at their own cost, since they were the ones who messed up) to guarantee that it'll be here in time? Or, if they won't do that, are they willing to fully refund you? If so, I'd take the refund and buy the same dress off Stillwhite or Poshmark or somewhere if the sizing was close.

Unfortunately this is the rush. Basically the dress came early June, there were some beads missing off the bodice so they sent it back. But they never called me, and they didn't check the wedding date so now it will be getting here waaaay late. No apologies from them at all.
The won't refund me, because they are saying it will be here before the wedding. If it isn't here then I will demand theoney back.

Oh no! Sorry to hear about all that. That's a bummer that they didn't even let you know what was going on with it. Do you have a seamstress lined up already? If so, let them know about the situation and get their thoughts on whether they can commit to the alterations in 3-4 weeks. I would think that they'd likely be able to, as long as they are aware ahead of time. Then, as soon as the dress comes in, take it to the seamstress for alterations. I would also frequently check in with the dress shop on the status of the dress (and tracking info once it officially ships) to make sure everything is staying on time.

My dress came the week before my wedding. I think 3-4 weeks is seriously no big deal. If it makes you feel better to have a backup then do that, but I personally wouldn't be freaking out over this.

I was hoping to have my dress by now and be talking to a seamstress. But I don't have anything figured out shapewear wise as I was hoping to have time to do so once I got my dress. But that doesn't seem to be the case

Wow, I am so sorry! There is really no great choice here. If I were you, I would weigh out the pros and cons and make the decision based on what is most important to you. For example, is it more important for you to save money, or to alleviate stress? For me personally, I would much rather spend the extra money to purchase the gown cheaper on still white just to give myself the peace of mind that I at least HAVE a dress for my wedding. I would stress myself out SO badly worrying that the re-order dress would not arrive in time, or alterations could not be done in time, or what if the second dress arrives with beads missing or some other sort of flaw?-are they going to send it back AGAIN without consulting you?! For me, it would be worth spending the extra money to not be stressed right up until my wedding day.

To add to my previous comment, If you did purchase the second dress and have it altered, you could always sell the re-ordered dress as brand new on still white, or another wedding dress site. I would also leave negative reviews everywhere I could about that dress boutique! (after the re-ordered dress is safe in your hands, of course)

That's what I am kind of thinking because this is the THIRD TIME the shipping date has changed. Being pushed back 2-4 weeks each time. I am terrified if I wait they will tell me in a month it won't get here. But I spent $1300 on this dress and I really don't want to beo it the money but I don't know what to do otherwise.

I was going to leave a great review because they did me a great service letting me return my old one for a new one ( I lost a lot of weight and it was way too big) but now I only have terrible things to say. I keep going over in my head what I want to say. I will definitely be leaving a review once I get it. It just stinks.
