So many I didn't think of, thanks guys!

Ooh good call Emmy Nae. I might mention the same thing about slow slongs...I went to a wedding where they played two slow songs and it didn't feel like enough at all for a girl who can only get her guy to dance to slow music lol

I did not worry about a do not play list.. I know even though I think there are some tacky songs kids enjoy them and have fun. But I did have songs that are not to be played until after 11 I figured most kids should be gone by then.

    No country, YMCA, Macarena....

I love the line dance songs, they definitely get even the shy people up & moving! Just don't play them back to back!

Why do DJ's play those group dance songs at weddings and classics like Love Shack and YMCA? Because they are familiar and they WORK!!! If your goal is to sit on your ass all night and pout like Veruca Salt in a Vera Wang gown, have fun, go nuts. But if you want a celebration people will remember (in a positive light) let the DJ do his job. This is your ONLY wedding. It's probably his 800th.

I am soooooo having the chicken dance at my wedding. I don't care if I have to do it by myself. I'm the bride and I LOVE the chicken dance. If my dj plays HOT HOT HOT they will not be paid. I cannot fathom that song.
