What's the average rate of RSVP's?

Kelly, on August 6, 2013 at 6:26 PM Posted in Planning 0 19

We have like 250 people on our list. I love them all but good god, I don't want them all to come. LOL I'm starting to freak out about planning and space and $$$$$ What has everyone seen on their numbers as far as people RSVP'ing vs. how many were invited?

    I think it really depends

But for reference we got a 120% RSVP rate at my first wedding. You could get a full house or 70% or even 20‰ it really depends

December wedding w/ a lot of OOT guests (as in across the country or at least out of state):

    Invited: 140

    Accepted: 85

Attended: 84 (one local guest was a no show)

    So 60% for us.

    People have had 100% attend.

As these forums have shown again and again, the rates vary WIDELY. Some have had 100% acceptance, some have had 30% acceptance.

I had about 70% acceptance rate, which is more in the norm. We had 170 guests on our list, about 120 accept.

@Mallory - is that a typo? You had more guests accept than you sent invites for? That's the only way I can see higher than a 100% rate.... lol Or if you had a LOT of wedding crashers!

I invited a total of 136. So far I only have 2 declines. Still waiitng on about 30% of them- they are mostly are wedding party who is taking forever to RSVP. FH had to remind one of his GMs and his response was "oh, I thought since I was in the wedding I didn't have to" Lol.

    @trena

    Nope no typo.

People turned up uninvited, extras written on RSVP, people turned up having not been invited because of where they were/distance/jobs

Holy GOD! I'm taking notes from the ladies on this forum.

And Kelly, I am now officially freaking out with you! LOL! I wanted 100, ended up inviting 170, and have heard from 42 people thus far, since mid-June.

Thanks ladies for all your input. I did the whole "guess who would come" bit. I still only had about 30 ppl that I think wouldn't come. I think I'm looking at a solid 200. Oh well. I'll prepare for all of them. I'll just let the chips fall where they may.

We invited 155, 97 are coming, 34 are no's, we're still waiting on about 20.. I was hoping to be around 100 though, so we're pretty happy. Smiley smile

These numbers and statistics scare me....we are inviting 250 because my FH can't say no to anyone about the wedding, and I am doing the budgeting. He keeps forgetting people he wanted to add. Right before the 'Save the Dates" went out, we had 190, then after they went out the number creeped up to 230, and now it is at 250. The hall can sit 225 technically, but with doing the ceremony at the same place, it can only comfortably fit 160-180. So we are probably screwed. That being said, we are about 50% travel/destination invites, so HOPEFULLY our actual numbers will be lower.

We invited about 70 people and I have about 60 coming. I really thought we would get a much lower percentage of response. lol, course that includes some add on's that we didn't invite. Gotta love them!

Oh and most of mine that are coming are OUT OF TOWN/STATE guests. Coming from Maryland, New York, Florida. Not too many locals responded.

We invited a total of 225 and 169 RSVPed yes. Of that number, 6 cancelled the week before and 10 were no-shows the day of. So we had a 153 guests in attendance, a total of 68% of the original guest list.
