Dana, why would you dress cost more than food? How many guests are you inviting and what is your food budget?

@EmilyS no budget has been made trying to get one started. I figured dress, food, flowers. Our church is free, then we are getting venue by family members. Catering is by a friend but will be simply cause its a small wedding with close family and friends. Our children put together is our wedding party. My dress will cost more due to simple dresses for the girls and pants and shirts for the guys. Our church family is helping with the decor. DJ is a classmate 1/2 off and photos are by a classmate also.

My dress which I haven't tried yet will be a simple dress more like a prom dress just a lace dress to the floor no veil . thanks for all the advice everyone!!!!

Best wedding venue with all inclusive facilities is the expensive thing in a wedding. My wedding venue was House Plantation, Texas. It was really a remarkable place and still fresh in our memories.

The guests, if you plan to host properly with alcohol and a catered meal.

Honestly, the dress wasn't even in the top 5 of the most expensive items.

Guests...or your per person price will always be the most expensive. If you want to cut cost, cut the guest list.
