I think weddings with cultural aspects are always interesting and unique. I've been to Middle Eastern weddings and Indian weddings, among other ones.

Bag pipes, GMs wearing kilts, Irish dancers...these we're at two different weddings. The infusions of different cultures into weddings make them interesting.

Most of the weddings I have been to were so formal. The mosf unique thing I've seen has been a more casual "let's have fun" attitude. It's easy for me to see how things get so formal so quickly, though. If you have even one guest who needs to be managed you suddenly are micromanaging so much.

My cousin and his partner had mini nerf guns as their favors. The waiters passed them out and buckets of the ‘bullets’
Everyone had a blast shooting each other.
The nerf guns had a tag that said “love is a battlefield”

Agreed! I went to an Indian wedding and it was SO much fun. For anyone who has never been, they do this thing called Baraat and it's basically a parade where the groom marches toward the bride and everyone is dancing and excited.

Our really close friends had a huge outdoor wedding a couple summers ago. There were tons of outdoors games and activities for guests during cocktail hour, but the highlight was DEFINITELY the mechanical shark they rented, lol. Their STDs and invitations were shark themed, so this wasn't completely out of the blue, but it was a huge surprise and a big hit. They also had a pig roast as part of the cocktail hour.

The reception was tented, there was a DJ/dance floor, normal dinner, etc. But the cocktail hour was definitely the most unique (and light-hearted/fun) one I've ever been to.

My mom & step dad got married standing *in* Puget Sound, they both took their shoes off and so did the officiant.

They told everyone it was so the molecules of their love could spread through out the world, but really it was because on their first date my mom got drunk and asked my step dad to take her to the beach so she could be one with the ocean, and they both stood in the water for a while. Which I love love love!

The one really neat thing I remember at a wedding was a big board that the bride and groom made with with the different chemicals in the human body that create the felling of love, that was used as a photo backdrop. They are both scientists so it was very much them.

My husband and I were at an Orthodox wedding. There’s a wall in the center of the reception. Men dance on one side and women in the other. The best part is one of the traditions is the couple sit on chairs and guests do different things to entertain the couple. There was juggling, a unicyclist and mostly dancing. You’d be surprised how wild some Hasidic men can get in the dance floor!

i had a Lip Sync Battle at my wedding which was lots of fun.

A friend of mine had an "in the round" ceremony. We were served champagne upon arrival and ate dinner before the ceremony (there were mostly cocktail tables setup, but some tables & chairs), then all 200 guests stood around in a big circle on on the dance floor while the bride and groom got married (by the bride's father) in the middle. It was so incredibly intimate and romantic. Crazy In Love started blaring the second they kissed at the end and it immediately turned into a massive dance party. Best wedding I've ever been to!

My cousin got married last year and on all the dinner tables and the bar there were temporary tattoos of his and his new wife’s face. Everyone thought they were hilarious and put them on during the reception so we have a bunch of photos with our whole family with their wedding “tattoos”.
