What's under the dress?

ColorMeBlu, on February 5, 2017 at 9:02 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 21

Sorry fellas girls only Smiley winking

So I'm going wedding dress shopping and I'm curious what to wear underneath? Strapless bra? Boy shorts? Spanks? What are you wearing under the dress?

I wore a nude strapless bra, and spanks. If you don't want to wear spanks, I'd recommend nude full-butt underwear, unless you don't care if the consultant sees your bare butt. Whatever bra or underwear you wear, they should be nude or white so they don't show through the dress.

Nude underwear and bra. I took off my bra when actually trying on dresses though because I'm fairly small chested and it was easier that way.

I wore a strapless bra and not sure which underwear. I think boyshorts. Thank god my consultant didn't come into the room with me as I don't like changing in front of my friends, let alone a stranger! She just clipped me after the dress was already on

I came from work and had on nude underwear and pantyhose. Both salons I went to put a corset-like bra on me. They were so matter of fact about helping me that all my body issues were forgotten.

I wore a nude bra and nude underwear. The consultant had me wear a longline bra while trying on dresses. She helped me into all the dresses. Luckily I didn't really care that she saw everything.

I wore a nude strapless bra and full coverage underwear. I did take my bra off for most of the dresses.

Some places have shape-wear for trying on. I always brought my own strapless bra and spanx just in case.

I wore a strapless bra and nude no seam underwear. I stripped my bra off pretty quickly, though, because I thought it was a lot easier to try on the dresses. The first time, I had a terrible consultant, so I was in the room by myself. The second time, she helped me. I didn't feel awkward, because we all have boobs and she sees them all the time.

I wore a strapless bra and spanx. The consultant wanted me to use their longline bra, but that was gross to me. Also not the right size, so kind of pointless. You will want to wear your actual wedding undergarments when you do your dress fitting.

I second everybody else's advice. They've seen it all and you may or may not need help getting into the dresses so it's all about your own comfort level.

However, it's worth noting that I got yelled at by a David's Bridal stylist because she reached into my neckline to adjust something and basically grabbed my (braless) boob. Haha. She thought it was super weird that I chose to try on braless. Both small boutiques I went to encouraged me to try on dresses braless to see if I preferred the fit/was more comfortable that way, though.

I wore the same as @fallinthegarden. Definitely recommend full underwear no matter what. They did give me a long line bra to put on so I changed.

    NOT SPANX. NEVER EVER SPANX.

Signed, the girl who had her spanx rolling down in the middle of the ceremony and couldn't do a damn thing about it. Thank goodness for a-line dresses and hoops so nobody but me knows Smiley smile

When you go to try on dresses----full coverage undies and ask for a longline bra. But also---ask to try on the dress you decide to buy with a crinoline and a hoop so you know if you want one from the getgo. Try them on with what you will wear on the ceremony day.

You may go braless---if your dress has enough boning, no matter how endowed you are, braless is best.
