What's your decorating budget??

ZimWifey, on July 7, 2017 at 7:25 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 29

Big day is quickly approaching and I'm finalizing a decorator. Originally I was going super budget bride and wanted to go lite on decorations. Venue is nice but not super fancy. I know there is huge variation but what is a realistic decor budget? I live in Washington, DC so I already know that prices will be inflated. A few Pictures of the venue attached!

    I spent like $250 lol.

But my venue was a restaurant so I was lucky.

But that does not include flowers. Just the vases for centerpieces, signs etc.

Much like VC, we probably spent less than $200. We bought a few things for our sweetheart table and a few things for our cake table and that is it. The venue comes with centerpieces, so we do have that minor benefit.

Our venue comes with draping so we lucked out but we allotted $6k for decor when we started budgeting. I think we spent $2k on chivari chairs, king and queen chairs, candles and upgraded linens for the sweetheart table

Yea I'm considering buying a few of my own things but I think I will need to hire a decorator just because the venue gives us such a small window in which to set up (5-7pm) so caterer, DOC and decorator have got to pull off the whole event.

We got all our decor from our florist. It was great because we only have to pay one delivery and set up fee

I'm trying to spend under $1000 for each the ceremony and reception decorations. Our venue includes uplighting and basic centerpieces for us (lanterns and candles), and our DJ can do a Gobo if we want but we aren't sold yet. I'd love an arch for the ceremony, or nice potted flowers on pedestals if I can find both within budget but that's about it. To me decorations are nice but not the most important part of the day.

Staying away from fresh flower centerpieces will be a money saver if they're not something you really want.

If you're including floral decorations into that budget (not BP flowers), my budget is $2500. That's for centerpieces, candles, lighting, an arch with flowers, and draping.

All ours came from our florist, and it was about $2000 (Canadian--relatively cheap for Toronto!). the rest of the little things like tealights and candle holders came with our venue at no cost.

I spent almost $2300 on decor. But that comes with my stage and uplighting also, so the price wasnt too bad.

We are spending about $6k for rentals and flowers.

Google "Yanni Design Studio" to see their gorgeous work!

I have ended up spending about $1,000 on very modest decorations, mainly centerpieces for 10 guest tables, welcome and gift table, and 1 sweetheart table. And that is for non-floral centerpieces. It adds up fast! I'm happy though! Here's a pic!

All flowers and rental décor were $7800. For cash tips for the set-up people I'd estimate we gave another $500. We had 26 centerpieces, flowers/décor for the ceremony and cocktail hour rooms, 16 in the bridal party, 4 parents and 4 grandmothers. That fee also included 225 chair covers. Up-lighting and pin-spots were provided by the venue at another $1100. Floor-length tablecloth rentals (plain ivory) were around another $500.
