What's your first dance song? Why did you choose it?

We chose I'm Yours by Jason Mraz. I loved the lyrics and thought it fit us nicely since we have been together since high school

I've written a few first dance songs that are pretty popular online..."Dace With Me", "This Ring", "Here We Stand" were all written specifically for the bride & groom. A lot of people already have a 'song' I guess, but we didn't really have any song that was special to us. So I've been playing different love songs for FH nonstop since January. I think we FINALLY agreed on one a week ago. It's Can't Help Falling in Love by Ingrid Michaelson. It's originally an Elvis song but we wanted something less old fashion, but still a song people recognize.

We are still in the process of deciding. I would really love to have Feels like Home by Chantal Kreviazuk. I get all emotional every time I hear it. I've pictured it being our first dance song for a LONG time.

We are doing Open Arms by Journey with a choreographed waltz. We enjoy ballroom dancing and Open Arms makes for a perfect waltz.

We shared our 1st dance together to the song "Are you gonna kiss me or not" by Thompson Square. So we are also going to share our 1st dance as husband and wife to the same song. Which is a song we both like too.

All of Me by John Legend. It's a very popular song right now but that's not why we chose it.

A few months ago, before the song even came out, FH came home and told me he heard this interview with John Legend on the radio and he played this song and FH said when he heard the song, he started crying because it reminded him of me. So he played it for me and I also started crying. We were on the fence about using it but it has popped up in the most peculiar times. It was on the radio in the clerk's office when we were applying for our marriage license, it was on the radio in the car on my way to get my dress altered and it was on the radio when FH and I were buying our new car.

Every time FH hears it, he cries. I love that he feels that way about me and so we decided that it was fate that this was our song.

These are great songs. I love hearing the stories behind them.

Arctic Monkeys- Baby I'm Yours

Not so much of a story but we wanted something a little bit more unique and we love Arctic Monkeys...

Ours is "future days" by pearl jam. We chose it becuase it fits as a first song perfectly and also we are not really love song kind of people. We are happy that we found something that is a rock song!

I also love Feels Like Home...the sentiment is perfect. All Of Me is nice too.

That being said. I don't knwo what we are using. I asked FH to come up witha list and I will do the same.

Our first dance song will be safe and sound by Capital Cities. We wanted a fun and upbeat song.

"Fly Me to the Moon"

We picked Sinatra because DH and I have different tastes in music, but we both like him. We wanted to take dance lessons for our first dance and this particular song works for the foxtrot which was the one we picked to learn.

My husband and I are very much old souls, and one of our favorite bands is The Eagles. We chose a beautiful song of theirs from 1976 called "Love Will Keep Us Alive," because we thought the lyrics were perfect. Plus, we don't know many people from our generation that even know that song, so we liked the unique factor as well.

Songbird - the Fleetwood Mac version sung by Christine McVie

It was each of our favorite song before we even met each other, and it was one of many coincidences in our lives. The song is so special to us that we would not even kiss to it until after we had said I love you to each other.

"Grow Old With You" by Adam Sandler... because it's more our style than a traditional love song.

Jason Mraz "I won't give up"

It's a song that will stay with us through our years together but, we will only be dancing to that song for about half of it because we are doing a surprise first dance!

A Thousand Years Part 2 by Christina Perri

I Wanna Be Loved Like That by Shenandoah. When I was little I would stay up late to watch my parents dance and this was one of their favorites. I love the words and the memories it brings back!

Arms by Christina Perri, it had the most meaning for us. FH had been a friend through the time I was with my daughter's father, and that relationship was very rough. After I left him I didn't look for another guy and FH just fell into place to start dating when I was ready, yet still nervous about dating again.

Our second choice was Feels like Home by Chantal Kreviazuk. It was in case we couldn't come up with a decent choreography to Arms, which we did.
