So after waiting so long my wedding day is almost here. (eek!) 4 days to go!! I have been doing a lot of reflecting the past few days and (crying like a baby) when i think about how special and important our day is this Saturday. So after waiting so long my wedding day is almost here. (eek!) 4 days to go!! I have been doing a lot of reflecting the past few days and (crying like a baby) when i think about how special and important our day is this Saturday.

We have chosen "Your Still The One" by Shania Twain as our first dance song. Neither one of us is really a country music fan but the words in this song fit us perfectly. When we first got together no one thought we would make it. (we didn't either) But now 17 years later, a house a crazy 4 year old son our day is finally getting here.

What is your song and why did you choose it?

We chose the instrumental version of Once Upon a Dream from Sleeping Beauty. This has always been my favorite Disney movie and one that speaks to my childhood and who I am today. It's also a classic movie (made in 1959) and FH and I both love the classics. Our whole wedding has a vintage/traditional with a modern twist vibe. When I first suggested the song to him, I thought he would laugh because he always jokes about how much i like Disney stuff. But he said that he loves the idea. He said that our wedding will be like our fairytale come true so this song made sense to him.

@evily FH had agreed to that song, but then he played it for his mom and she didn't like it...which made him reject it. It was annoying at the time, but I think our new song works better anyway. I will make sure we play that song somewhere, though.

@DisneyEngagement! My has been playing this song non-stop for the past 2 weeks! She heard it on a Netflix movie and thought it was sung so beautifully by the singer. She's 14, she had no idea it was an Elvis song! lol! She keeps suggesting for my fiance and I to use for our first dance. Not sure if I will use it, but it definitely a beautiful song!

Our Song is in Spanish...it's Esto es Vida by Draco Rosa. He's one of our favorite artists and we went to see him together last year. We love the song & the artist and the lyrics fit us to a T.

"Then" by Brad Paisley, the piano version. No real reason other than FH suggested it and no matter what other idea I throw at him he keeps saying, "it's nice... But I still like the other one better." He's a romantic but in small ways. He doesn't really talk about his feelings much, he expresses them tho. And by him choosing this song, it says a lot to me. I've always liked the song and thought it was sweet but now it has a whole new meaning to me and it makes me cry every time I listen to it now.

As much as I HATE to admit it, our song is Whatever You Like by T.I. It's COMPLETELY inappropriate for a first dance at a wedding, but since it really is our song, I think we are going to have my MOH (who is a musician) play it on acoustic guitar and sing it (with some words changed to make it less dirty).

We chose "So Easy" by Phillip Phillips. None of the classic wedding songs stood out to us even though we really liked them. So FH asked me if Phillip Phillips (who I love) had any songs that would work. I played this song for him and he loved it. It's a very sweet song and the words for us really well.

We are also doing Still the one by Shania as FH and I were "going out", we were 12 and I always imagined it would be our song. After both of us dating other people we ended up together 5 treats ago and in a few months we will pledge to be together forever Smiley smile

    "Iris" by Goo Goo Dolls

We were driving home one night and we both already love the song. After we both sang it and the song was over we both looked at each other the same time and he said is this the one? I replied Yep, sure is!!

"La Vie En Rose" performed by Louis Armstrong. It's meaning, life in pink, a play on life through rose colored glasses exactly describes how my FH makes me feel. Plus it's such a beautiful, romantic and fun song. I actually thought about walking down the aisle to the instrumental version played on piano.

Sara Bareilles - I Choose You. It's simple, to the point, not too long, and not too slow.

Can't Help Falling in Love - Elvis. It is a nice, danceable waltz and actually when one of us starts singing it, the other joins in. We harmonize nicely on that song Smiley smile

@ Future Mrs Burt We have a very similar story for our song. FH and I both sang "This I Promise You" by Nsync on a car ride when we were first dating.

Seeing that he knew all the words was part of what made me fall in love with him. It's been our song since then and the lyrics are perfect.
