What's your processional song?

Jo, on April 10, 2018 at 8:05 AM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 1 44

What song will be playing during the walk down the aisle? Was it an easy decision to make? Will you play a recording or will it be played live? Share your processional song.

The Forrest Gump Theme by Alan Silvestri. It's a beautiful piano instrumental.
I was looking through a list and found it comical and listened out of sheer curiosity. It's gorgeous and my FH is obsessed with Forrest Gump so it's exciting.

"Hedwig's Theme" from Harry Potter. I was between this and "From the Ground Up" by Dan and Shay. But I love HP and we are incorporating our nerdiness into the wedding and we had all our other songs picked out and it was really important to me to have "Hedwig's Theme" so it was easy to decide that I would walk down the aisle to it. "From the Ground Up" will play as the bridal party walks in.

We are doing Say you won't let go by James Arthur (switching up a few lyrics). It was an easy decision, honestly the story of the beginning of our relationship! Smiley heart

The wedding party is walking in to an instrumental version of I Can't Help Falling in Love. I'm currently torn between A Thousand Years and Hedwig's Theme. I love A Thousand Years, but its so common to hear at weddings and we have some nods to Harry Potter for our reception and I would love to carry that over to the ceremony (plus anyone who knows me knows how much I love HP!)

"Don't Go Home Without Me" by a singer called Lights. This is a song that means a lot to me and my fiance, so I'm excited to incorporate it.

A cover of Say You Won't Let Go by James Arthur. It's our song, but I didn't want it for the first dance. I think it'll be more special if it's for such a big moment.

Makes me cry every time I listen to it.

We're doing River Flows in You by Yiruma for families and FH entrances, then transitioning to Jonathan Cain's cover of Bridal March for my entry.

Here and Now by Luther Vandross. Was very easy decision. I have wanted this song to be my wedding song since I was a child. I played it for FH and he immediately agreed. The dj will play it recorded.

My H and I picked the GoT theme song for the guitarist to play. We walked down the aisle together, so I wanted something we both loved.

We're going the classical route with a solo guitarist. The bridal party will walk out to Canon in D and I'll be walking out to Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring.

We're still trying to decide on this, but it will likely be classical music. We're having a cello/violin duo, so it makes sense to me to go the traditional route.

An orchestral recording of Canon in D. We chose it because his daughter is in the orchestra, and was a featured soloist on the recording.
