What’s your wedding dress budget?

Just started my dress search and visited a shop this past weekend where I tried on some dresses and the dresses I liked fell into the $2500-$3000 range. I don’t necessarily have a budget, but I’m kind of uneasy about purchasing a dress I will only wear once. But again, I don’t want to limit myself...
Just started my dress search and visited a shop this past weekend where I tried on some dresses and the dresses I liked fell into the $2500-$3000 range. I don’t necessarily have a budget, but I’m kind of uneasy about purchasing a dress I will only wear once. But again, I don’t want to limit myself too. But I do think I should set a budget. So I just wanted to get an idea what everyone else’s budget is and which designer did go with? The dresses I liked were either Pronovias or Sottero & Midgley.

TIA!

I set a budget of $500, which my husband laughed at and in his head set a budget of at least $3000. Went to DB to see styles I might like and fell in love with a Melissa Sweet for $1200 (and dress high veil for $200). Text my husband and he laughed and said I'm over my own budget but WAAY under his 🤣. Probably wouldn't have mattered what he said my mom and best friend weren't letting me walk away from it LOL

I originally had a budget of $1000. I called the boutique and was told their biggest selection was between $1200-$1500 so i set my budget to $1500. In the end, the PERFECT dress came in at $1133 with Tax. I still haven't decided on a veil or if I even want one and still haven't gotten any alterations.

Here's a picture of the dress from Alexandra's Boutique

I had a budget of $100 that I set for myself. Found this beauty for $72. Needs altered, and the place I found has reviews that say they are very inexpensive. A friend got a non-maternity dress altered to fit her 9 month pregnant belly for only $35! And I just need it hemmed off the bottom and taken in at the top. Smiley smile

I set my dress budget to $300 because I didn't want a traditional wedding gown, I actually fell in love with a bridesmaid dress I saw online for $130 (shipping included). When the dress came in, it was about 2 feet too long and would need some serious alterations. I ended up going to David's Bridal and finding an actual wedding dress I loved and needed no alterations for $99 ($116 with tax). I stayed under my original budget with buying 2 dresses.

I told my self I wasn't going to spend more on a dress than I do on my rent! I planned in a bit of extra (cause I'm no good on a budget). I had $1500 for a dress found one I liked for double but ended up getting mine for $700

I'm not a dress person or girly person for that matter, but I never had a prom so I wanted a dress for my wedding. Something pretty and formal. My budget I personally made for myself was $100. I ended up spending $250 + $60 in alterations because I'm so darn short. Total $310. I'm very happy with it and so were my friends that joined in on the fun, including my mom.

    The designer: David's Bridal.

    Love my dress!

I fell in love with my dress online, so it was a bit shocking when I found out it would cost 4k. It was more than I wanted to spend, but it was do-able. I had planned on selling it on, so I figured I could recoup some and I didn't ended up really needing alterations so I saved a little there. The problem is I've had a ton of people tell me they think it's timeless enough that someone in my family really night want to wear it one day. I'm torn. They've also discontinued the dress which would've been being disappointing if it had happened to me. I just want someone who gets the same joy out of wearing it that I did!

My budget was a strict $1,500. I ended up getting a $1,700 Stella York dress for just under $1,500 since the store I bought it from offered a discount if you purchased it the same day that you tried it on.

My FH gave me a budget of 2000. I gave myself a budget of under 600 because I COULD NOT see myself buying something over that. For me it was ridiculous since I was only wearing my dress for a few hours. Went to DB and found the dress, it was went over my budget by 50 dollars, and then the alterations are running me 404 dollars (not an error code).

My fiancé said $1,500 was okay. But i wanted it to be less than $1000 out the door (not altercations). I got it with tax at $997

My dress budget is $500. I've already found my dress and plan on ordering it next month for our September wedding. My dress is only $130, veil $30, shoes $18, rainbow veil for first dance with my wifey $38, garter $37.
I feel like I've done really well keeping it under budget so we have more to spend on other things.Smiley love

My dad purchased my dress he told me my budget was $2000.
Ticket price for the dress I selected was like $2150 but I got lucky. The dress was on sale for $1700 because the designer had a trunk show at the bridal salon that day, and I received a additional discount because my dad was a military veteran. Purchase price $1600, $400 under budget. Wedding is not until October so unfortunately I can't post any pics yet, my fh has access to our WW site lol.

I wanted to spend $1500 on my dress (not including accessories) before alterations. After discounts I got my veil and dress for under $1600, so I was really happy about that!

My original budget before alterations was $1500. the dress was originally $2300, the shop discounted it to $2000, and my parents ended up paying half, so $1000.00, which was amazing, so before alterations I paid $1000. I still have to get my veil and jewelry but that shouldn't be to much Smiley smile
