What’s your wedding dress budget?

Just started my dress search and visited a shop this past weekend where I tried on some dresses and the dresses I liked fell into the $2500-$3000 range. I don’t necessarily have a budget, but I’m kind of uneasy about purchasing a dress I will only wear once. But again, I don’t want to limit myself...
Just started my dress search and visited a shop this past weekend where I tried on some dresses and the dresses I liked fell into the $2500-$3000 range. I don’t necessarily have a budget, but I’m kind of uneasy about purchasing a dress I will only wear once. But again, I don’t want to limit myself too. But I do think I should set a budget. So I just wanted to get an idea what everyone else’s budget is and which designer did go with? The dresses I liked were either Pronovias or Sottero & Midgley.

TIA!

Sure! It’s at David’s bridal. I would hurry though because I have been told it’s selling out. It’s a galina signature dress.

So I knew I wanted to stay in the **** range, and would have loved to find a dress for less. My "runner up" gown was at Davids at $899 and was beautiful.. But i wanted to shop more.. I had a vision that hadnt been matched. I went to a boutique and ended up spendong 1500 plus alterations. At the end of the day im so glad i gave my self some wiggle room.. It just came in so i get to put it on soon. Just remember it is 1 day but ideally you get married once, so make sure you love it. Consider selling or renting it afterwards regardless of the price Smiley smile also there are a lot of rental/resale options if you cant bring yourself to spend it!

I had a shoestring budget of no more than 200 dollars. I had originally intended on going to a thrift store and Frankenstein-ing something together myself because I love sewing and am pretty good at it. Long story short I ended up spending $220 on the most amazing gown at Davids Bridal. Because of my small budget the woman helping me only showed me gowns I could afford and it only took 2 try-outs before I found the perfect dress! I made the decision to pick the dress that fit the best right away so that I didn't feel guilty about working out. I am already too busy for anything else let alone taking time to breathe heavily and sweat everywhere. I don't have a good picture of it on, but this is me in it.

This is in a size 14, I wear a size 12 pant from Target so ~10.5-11 anywhere else

If you like it so much you want it for yourself follow this link: https://www.davidsbridal.com/Product_draped-off-the-shoulder-crepe-sheath-gown-int19673_all-wedding-dresses

Underneath I am also wearing a corset because the cups that are in the dress make your breasts look like there are multiples. I will be purchasing some sort of spandex hip-hugger to control whats going on underneath on the big day! Smiley winking

I wanted a second hand dress for $500, but had trouble finding one so moved my budget to $1000 and wound up purchasing an $1800 dress...sigh! lol! Smiley winking

I was in a similar situation. I was going to buy one that was $500 but when I got home and kept looking at pictures, I realized my heart really wanted the other dress that was $1500. I decided that this was my dress and money was not going to make my decision. Go with your heart! You can always cut costs on something else in the wedding!

I also know what you mean though about being sad that the search is over as I really loved trying on wedding dresses and the excitement that it all involves! It was so much fun!

My budget was $800, got a sample dress for $443 after tax, + $365 for alteration. The original price for the dress is almost $3000, design by Justin Alexander.

I didn’t have a true budget. I wanted to be as cheap as possible but I didn’t want to limit myself. I “set” my budget to be ~$1500 but was willing to go up if needed. I found a beautiful Allure dress for $1300 so I won’t complain. I never would have either way cuz I found my dress and it is beautiful.

Mines was under $1,000. Not because of my finances but because I really did not want to spend a lot on a dress that I’ll only wear once. I remember when I was at university, I was invited to a gala at the White House. I spent $300 on a Nordstrom dress for that event. Same size today and I haven’t worn that dress since. It upsets me still just a tad bit when I think of how much I spent just to wear it once.

We didn’t actually have a budget. My grandma wanted me to have the dress I wanted. However I didnt want to spend a fortune on something I’ll wear once. We ended up getting it for right under $700💕

I wanted to stay under $1,000, and got lucky with a floor sample sale yesterday.
Exactly what I was looking for, in my size for $975+tax and alterations. Very happy! Good luck!

My parents (who bought my dress) set my budget to $2500 but my dress ended up being $1200 and the designer is Madi Lane. I haven't done alterations but it may be pricey because we're planning to change it up a bit

I wanted to for sure stay under $1000... closer to $800 really.. i actually found my dress on accident - went with my step sister to Davids Bridal for her appointment months before I was engaged. She tried on this beautiful (yet simple) a-line gown, but she didnt like it. I thought it was stunning and really was so flattering. She ended up knocking that one out of her final picks, so i went ahead and got the dress info from the consultant (i knew my engagement was coming, Im not crazy I swear, lol). A few months later when I got engaged ai decided to look up that dress on the website.. they finally had my size back in stock and on sale, so we went that weekend and I ordered it.. the dress was on clearance for $500! So glad I was able to getmy dream dress for such a good price, and hae full intentions of still being under the $1000 budget even after alterations! I cant wait to get married feeling like a princess in just a few months!

I didn't really have a budget. I did research on dresses and fell in love with the one I ended up getting for just over 2000. My dress will be basically an open back besides the part down my spine. The other strap is my bra.
