What’s your wedding dress budget?

Just started my dress search and visited a shop this past weekend where I tried on some dresses and the dresses I liked fell into the $2500-$3000 range. I don’t necessarily have a budget, but I’m kind of uneasy about purchasing a dress I will only wear once. But again, I don’t want to limit myself...
Just started my dress search and visited a shop this past weekend where I tried on some dresses and the dresses I liked fell into the $2500-$3000 range. I don’t necessarily have a budget, but I’m kind of uneasy about purchasing a dress I will only wear once. But again, I don’t want to limit myself too. But I do think I should set a budget. So I just wanted to get an idea what everyone else’s budget is and which designer did go with? The dresses I liked were either Pronovias or Sottero & Midgley.

TIA!

Well, I went too two bridal shops. The first one was with a friend just see the sale prices. I tried on a million dresses and ended up loving two. The more traditional one was $1500 and the other one was a sapphire blue with beige so that was $200. I really liked the more traditional one but was very mixed about buying it since I just had a friend drop over $3000 on her dress and it looked terrible on her. It was wicked huge. So I guess I wanted to be in that $**** range but my fiancé and his mom kept telling me don’t worry about the cost. If I love the dress then I’ll get it. So fast forward a few months and I got invited to a privately own d bridal shop where they were having a sneak peek at the 2019 bridal dresses. Again, I tried on a million dresses and eventually found another two that I loved. We took a lot of photos and decided to go back the day the sneak peek ended and to try the dresses again. My fiancé, his mom, the lady who was helping us and myself all fell for the same dress. My fiancé’s mom announced I had to have that dress no matter the cost. We finally worked up the nerve to ask how much it was and we were expecting it to be a lot turned out the dress was only $647! We immediately ordered my dress and it should be here in June!!! I don’t really truly care about designers at all. I have no idea who designed the dress. I just know I absolutely love my dress. My dress also fits my wedding theme so it couldn’t have been more perfect.

My budget was $500 as I originally intended to rent a dress. I went to try on dresses (just to look) and found one that required no alterations, no compromises, and was exactly what I envisioned in a dress. My budget immediately went from $500 to “I think I can manage $1200”. Be careful lol.

I was fortunate enough to find a boutique that allowed me to do a very flexible payment plan.

My dress budget was $3500 but we were willing to go up to $4000 if needed. My dress is Hayley Paige and I got it on Trunk Show pricing for $2900. My veil cost $900, my headpiece $450 and my belt $450. Alterations are an additional $900.

My budget was $2500. My dress was on sale for $1300. So basically I got a ceremony dress, reception dress (also on sale for about $550), and a super long cathedral veil to match my ceremony gown ($477). I can squeeze the belt (custom on Etsy for $50) and shoes (HELP i have no idea where to go!!) out of this budget too! In theory, I stayed within budget, but I didn't include alterations hahahaa! They showed me a few obvious things to alter on both dresses. I think it may be around $500 total. I forgot. I can still be a little proud of this!

For my wedding dress I was willing to spend $1500. my wedding party was wiling to go ****. We went to David's I tried on 6 dresses. Dress #7 gave me that "Yes, to the dress" moment. and it was priced at 1000. so I would come back to start payment cause this was a year out. Then in November I went to start a payment plan I was informed that the dress was being discontinued and I may not be able to get the dress. The dress is being discontinued. I started to panic I didn't want to start looking for a dress. GOD was on my side cause I was able to order my dress for under $800 and it may be marked down more by the time the dress is to come to the store for pick up. All is left is my veil and shoes. but I didn't include alterations. Now my second dress is priced at 250. ( Didn't order yet)

I’m in that exact boat money wise. Love Maggie sottero but there’s more important things on my wedding day and in life than the “perfect” dress

I budgeted $800 and spent $1100. The alterations will be another $500 or so. I have zero regrets though. It's perfect for me! Smiley heart

I just got my dress and love it!! I set a budget of 2000 for my dress, and I found an amazing dress from Allure Bridal for $1760. With alterations it will go over my budget but its so worth it!!

Budget was $1500. I haggled it down to $1000 and got the alterations for $300 (hem, put in a corset, and changed the straps to strapless).

I didn’t really have a budget for the dress. I knew I wasn’t going to get a traditional wedding dress, so whatever I was going to get, wasn’t going to be super expensive.

My dress budget was $900. I was just looking to see what I liked and I ended up finding my dress that day at a second hand shop my parents paid for my dress the original price was $1600 but they only paid $581 for it. No price of me in it because of the groom.
