What’s your wedding dress budget?

Just started my dress search and visited a shop this past weekend where I tried on some dresses and the dresses I liked fell into the $2500-$3000 range. I don’t necessarily have a budget, but I’m kind of uneasy about purchasing a dress I will only wear once. But again, I don’t want to limit myself...
Just started my dress search and visited a shop this past weekend where I tried on some dresses and the dresses I liked fell into the $2500-$3000 range. I don’t necessarily have a budget, but I’m kind of uneasy about purchasing a dress I will only wear once. But again, I don’t want to limit myself too. But I do think I should set a budget. So I just wanted to get an idea what everyone else’s budget is and which designer did go with? The dresses I liked were either Pronovias or Sottero & Midgley.

TIA!

My budget is no more than $800. I want to keep this wedding simple and I am not going to get too picky about the dress because I am only going to wear it for one day. The most important thing is that it will fit me well. I am an easy person to please. Smiley smile

My budget was $1500 but I really wanted to stay under $1000 before alterations. Ended up with a dress of the rack for $750 including taxes that was originally $1800!

My budget was 1,000 max. My dress was on sale for $650. The sash the under slip and the veil added up to be exactly 1,000 for it all

At first I gave myself a $1,000 budget knowing I’d be paying for it on my own. After researching prices of gowns I’d be trying I gave myself a little wiggle room and upped my price to $1,300-$1,450 if I fell in love. You don’t have to pay an arm and a leg to find a beautiful dress!

I wanted to keep mine at $2,000 or less - with alterations. As much as I would have loved a customized, one of a kind dress, I just don't have it like that and for something I will only wear for maybe 8 hours, I couldn't justify spending more.

I set a budget of $2500 or less, not including alterations and while I haven’t had alterations, I found an Essense of Australia d2478 for $1599 that I loved and ended up getting a veil and headpiece at the same time for just above $2000. Alterations will cost about $600 according to the store so I’ll be pretty on target with that included!

I found a lot of dresses at bridal boutiques for $2500 and down, I felt like I had a good selection and variety.

I dislike shopping with salespeople nor do I like making an event of it so I found mine online. I also have a problem making such a large purchase and not being able to wear it again. I set a budget of 1k including alterations. I wanted it to be memorable with a different silhouette with some drama, and overall extremely comfortable. My dress was $800 and alterations $150.

So, it arrived, but it was a little off. So, I took it to an area seamstress and the alterations are less than $300, so having gotten it for <$200, my whole dress will be <$500. I think it's totally worth it.😊

We also got my 2 daughters their dresses from wish and the guys all got their suits from tuxedosonline.com, so for all of our attire, we paid around $1,200 for the MotB, A man of honor, one of the groomsmen, The flower girl and ring bearer, and the bride. I think we did well. 😀

I didn't have a set budget but I knew I didn't want to spend anymore than 2,000$. My dress was 1,700$ discounted for 1,500$. I don't have pricing for alterations yet, I'm still waiting for my dress to arrive. My dress is from a private collection, I don't know the designer!

Ideally, I didn’t want to spend more than $2000 because I didn’t reallt want a white dress and I didn’t think I’d like one.
I found out I could get a custom made dress in black, which is what I wanted. The dress was $2399 and an additional $250 for the customizations to made it black. Alternations are included. I’m happy with it. It’ll be a custom made designer gown in a design and color that’s so unique and perfect for me

My budget for my dress is under $1,000. I'd love to get a dress for around $500, that would be perfect. I'm going dress shopping March 16th!

Cheap as I bought my shirt that looks like a tuxedo on Wish.com as I’m not a dress wearing person (never have been, never will be).

    Hi Trisa,

I set my budget before trying on dresses, since we can get really in LOVE of some of the really expensive one. Is really nice that you don't want to limit yourself, and I'll just share my experience with you since for my wedding I'm on a tight budget for the whole wedding.

I start doing my research on websites trying to find the dresses I like the most.

Then I look at their prices, and I realize that there is lot of really super pretty dresses for let say 1500 and there is one super similar for 3000. So the price was super different but the dress very similar, and that was because of the designer.

So I set my budget for $1,500 to $1,800 with a room for a little bit more I said no more than $2,000.

When I went to the bridal stores, I show them the style that I was looking for and I let them know about my budget. And they work amazing around my style and my budget.

My designer is Enzoni, I love my dress!!! and I spend only $1,700.

    Good Luck and Good Vibes!

    Happy Planning!!!
