What’s your wedding dress budget?

Just started my dress search and visited a shop this past weekend where I tried on some dresses and the dresses I liked fell into the $2500-$3000 range. I don’t necessarily have a budget, but I’m kind of uneasy about purchasing a dress I will only wear once. But again, I don’t want to limit myself...
Just started my dress search and visited a shop this past weekend where I tried on some dresses and the dresses I liked fell into the $2500-$3000 range. I don’t necessarily have a budget, but I’m kind of uneasy about purchasing a dress I will only wear once. But again, I don’t want to limit myself too. But I do think I should set a budget. So I just wanted to get an idea what everyone else’s budget is and which designer did go with? The dresses I liked were either Pronovias or Sottero & Midgley.

TIA!

My budget was $1,000 but I really wanted to stay around $500 since it is a one-time wear. I scored my $700 dress for $220 at a DB sale! It will need minimal alterations so I'm estimating $100-$200.

My budget was around 500 and the dress I bought was 399. I haven't had alterations yet

My budget was $2500 for the dress and an additional $500 for alterations. I ended up finding my Morilee by Madeline Gardner dress for $1800. We haven't talked alterations yet since my dress isn't in yet and I have a couple of months before we need to start that process with my wedding not being until November but I am so happy to have come in under budget by so much Smiley smile

I originally set my budget for $1,000. I went to DB and found the one for $645 plus $300 for alterations so a total of $945 and I'm so happy with my dress.

My budget was 200 and I spent 400 and 85 in alterations. I got a David's bridal credit card which has 6 months no interest.

I set a budget of $2,000 and was amazed by my dress selection! I went to 3 salons and almost all the dresses were under 2k (not including alterations). My budget wasn't strict, I just really felt I could find one under 2k and I did.

My budget initially was about $1500 but was willing to go a little higher if needed. Naturally I fell in love with a dress that was $2700 after discount, a gorgeous Martina Liana dress from the Essence of Australia line, with a stunning illusion back and I had to have it!

I haven’t started dress shopping yet. So I haven’t nailed down a dress budget yet either. The concept of spending thousands of dollars on a dress I will wear once is really not very palatable. Sooooooo I’m thinking around $1K as my top limit. We’ll see if that is feasible based on the styles I like, when I start actually trying them on. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I wanted to stick around $1,000 for just my dress....I went to David's bridal and found an amazing dress Vera Wang dress that was close to that, but my mother and grandmother bought my dress, my undergarments, my shoes, and jewelry. I'll probably pay for the alterations which I'm budgeting at $500 at least because I want sleeves and a different neckline.

I don’t know where you are, or if you would be willing to travel, but I sincerely HIGHLY recommend Jillian’s Bridal Outlet in Hickory, North Carolina. It was worth traveling for, for me! I got a Sottero & Midgely gown brand new for $699. With my veil, I paid a total of $829 that day.
No dress in the store is over $699. He buys stock from dress stores that close down all over the country, and I’m pretty sure part of the proceeds go to autism research.(The owners daughter is non verbal autistic and the store is named after her.) These gowns are STUNNING! I am in love with mine! I think it’s truly worth it. You still get a gorgeous gown, at a fraction of the cost. I felt the same way about spending thousands on a dress I would wear for one day. But I don’t mind paying less than $1000 for one 😂

I wanted a dress that wasn’t going going to cost a lot of money only for the simple fact I’ll never wear it again!! Plus I’m getting married for another time. I end up spending $600. I had to pay more because I’m 5’10 and I wanted the extra 4” in length!! My dress was original over $800. It has everything I wanted...strapless, satin, ivory, short train.

I didn’t have a budget because I didn’t know how much dresses cost. I found a lot of dresses I thought I loved for about 1,300 until I found MY DRESS that was 2,000 (before alternation). I love it.

My budget for the dress (pre-alteration) was 1000 and I came way under because I went to an off-the-rack sale.

I didn’t really budget wedding dress person because I knew I was going in and getting what I wanted and so far I’ve bought three dresses one of which I had custom-made I’ve spent about 3200 but expect it to probably be around 4000 after alterations and everything
