What’s your wedding dress budget?

Just started my dress search and visited a shop this past weekend where I tried on some dresses and the dresses I liked fell into the $2500-$3000 range. I don’t necessarily have a budget, but I’m kind of uneasy about purchasing a dress I will only wear once. But again, I don’t want to limit myself...

I don’t necessarily have a budget, but I’m kind of uneasy about purchasing a dress I will only wear once. But again, I don’t want to limit myself too. But I do think I should set a budget. So I just wanted to get an idea what everyone else’s budget is and which designer did go with? The dresses I liked were either Pronovias or Sottero & Midgley.

TIA!

Yeah the DB I went to, literally EVERYONE was trying it on. It’s sooo pretty the details on the dress is why I fell in love with it.
I did take some pics of me in the dress but the dress looks funky on me bc I tried it 2 sizes smaller than my usual size. They only had the one on the mannequin left.

That’s funny, I think its perfect for my winter wedding. I am biased a guess but I cant see it being used for a different season because of the sleeves.

Yeah that’s true. Im getting married on the last days of September. It will still be kinda hot but I think the sleeves are quite thin and the dress doesn’t feel too heavy, which I love cause all the other dresses were sooooo heavy!!!

I tried on multiple dresses at multiple shops...I wanted an entirely different type of dress than I had from my first wedding. Ended up finding a beautiful lace mermaid style dress for an obscene amount of $$ ($1300, but we have a very small budget).

Went on Amazon, because well, they literally have everything, and found almost the exact same dress by a different designer for $99. I thought, Amazon? It came in 2 days, I tried it on, and the only alteration it needs is a panel in the back to go all the way across with the laced ribbon.

I didn't really have a set budget, my MIL was purchasing it, but I was trying not to go past 1000. I got my dress at a local boutique it was 999 and I got it for 899. It's a Bonny Bridal and very princess-like with beading and lace and a chapel length train.

You could do the one dress with a higher budget, or even two dresses that equal the budget with each one being cheaper than 2500. : )

My wedding dress budget started out as $1,800-$2K range... the whole thing with alterations and the veil, belt, and bolero, ended up been a bit over $3,600. My shoes were near $150 and I haven’t even looked at accessories. Luckily my headpiece is my “something old.” Phew!

My budget was $1500, including alterations. My dress ended up costing $500, the only alterations I'd need is a hem & that is only if I wear flats. Alterations will only be around $100.

I was wanting to spend under 1200$. I decided to have mine made instead (I’m quite particular lol), and it’s costing 750$.
Not sure where you live, but I would imagine there are shops which sell high end dresses at a reasonable price, and give the proceeds to charity.

I do, but unfortunately the only dresses I've tried on and loved were the higher end gowns and we are getting married in June and most of the designers have a 5-8 month turn around time Smiley sad and I really dont want to spend even more in rush charges.

It's almost an exact copy of a hayley paige dress.
I tried it and the HP dress on and like you can tell a diffrence in the quality but it's barely different.
I really liked that dress as well and its looks much better on you then me haha.
You've got to share some of the pics after you get married Smiley heart Smiley heart

I don’t currently have a photo of me in my dress yet (haven’t done alterations) but this is the one I bought. It was an $1200 dress I bought for $450 during BHLDN’s end of season trunk sale. I got super lucky that their last size available was my size. The designer is Watters. I think you might like the style of Watters if you like midgley. Check out BHLDN and Watters website. Good luck!

I bought a dress from BHLDN for around $1,300 and my budget was $1,500. With alterations the total would be around $1,800 and I realized I didn't love the dress enough to spend that much money on it. I ended up returning it. I'm having a really hard time justifying spending money on a dress I wear only once. I know you have the photos forever but I have friends who spent under $1,000 on their dresses and they look gorgeous in photos. My wedding is in August and I'm back to the drawing board with dresses. I just don't know what to do and don't feel comfortable spending a lot of money.
