When Can I Make M&M Favors

Private User, on June 20, 2014 at 2:40 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 6

Hey Guys!

Just got these awesome Jars from Michaels for my wedding favors.

We are going to fill them with gray M&Ms.

My wedding is in 3.5 months. I want to get the favors done now while I have the time, but I don't want them to go bad.

Any suggestions?

I got mine this week. According to M&Ms you are good to buy now. Check for Groupon before you order though as they are generally out there.

There's also a WW promo code for 20% off...WEDDINGWIRE20 is what I believe it is...I just rec'd my personalized M&Ms last week!! Love 'em!!! I have to buy the little organza pouches to put them in still...I don't think I'll be doing my favors until like the week before :-)

I was wondering the same thing! How did you all know how much to buy?

Here's an old WW post about the same thing...if I remember correctly this is what I used to calculate how much to buy. My guest list stands at 124 with I'm guessing no more than 100 showing up, so I bought 12 lbs.

Edited to add the link :-\

Since you are putting them in jars, I think you should be safe doing them now. Also, Nuts.com has an awesome candy calculator.

Thanks everyone! I started making them! However, I went to Meijer and saw that they sell chocolate pieces (in gray) for 2.50 for a 1/2 pound. That's about half the cost of ordering online... I have filled about 40 jars and went through 8 pounds of chocolate (my jars hold about 1/8 pound per jar)
