When did you actually start wedding planning?

How soon after the proposal did you start wedding planning? Did you dive right in the next day? Did you wait a little while to just enjoy being engaged? Did you it take you awhile to get the ball rolling? When did you start wedding planning? Photo from Precision Planning in Murray, NJ

We started planning a week later. 2months in and all vendors are booked, dresses picked, venue booked, and bridal party settled. We are having A 14month long engagement. Everyone is different tho! I am a planner and now I can sit back and enjoy the rest of my engagement!

We started planning right away, but there's going to be this big gap in the middle because we have a 2 year engagement. So we are kind of taking care of the big stuff now and taking the rest as it comes along.

We started planning after about 6 months! So I guess you could say we first enjoyed being engaged 😊 & still are!

We started a few months after I proposed. I wanted to give him some time to get used to the idea lol! We've been together 12+ years, but marriage was never a thing we'd planned for. And when my folks offered to kick in a generous sum to make it magical, I went in for a local pro planner.

We got engaged in December 2018 and didn’t start wedding planning until March 2019. We wanted to take some time to enjoy being engaged and also wanted to give my fiancé the opportunity to get settled into his new job. We are getting married in July 2020.

I started reaching out to venues for pricing about 6 months before the engagement, had my first dress appointment 5 months before the engagement, and started officially planning about 2 months before we were engaged. 😂

My fiancé and I did the same thing! We actually looked at a venue before he proposed because things book up so fast in Fall time! We both knew we were going to get engaged soon so there’s no harm in planning ahead!!!

We didn’t intend waiting 7 months to start planning but we are getting married in 2021 so we do have a lot of time to plan everything out.

I waited about 3 months ! I did some research first here and there To get an idea what I was in for. I recommend enjoying engagement for a few months but no longer than that if you want to get married the following year because things book fast!

I started planning a few weeks later. We've been together 8 years so in truth I've had it planned in my head for a good 5-6 years... but now I'm actually making plans!

We already have quite a bit of the wedding planned, venue set, date booked, DJ and Photographer set, and found a place/invitations I love. Though my SO isn’t proposing until next year I feel like by the time he does our wedding will already be planned.

I’ve been an Event Planner for years so I want every event I plan to be perfect as it’s a direct reflection on me and my area of expertise. I also understand all things that may go astray so I started immediately! You can never over plan for the perfect day. As an event planner, we always have a book for every event, so electronic if you choose (app) or physical. I like both. Research, organize especially if you’re not hiring someone to plan it for you so you can enjoy your big day!

Yep, I had my dress within a week.

We also knew we wanted to get married before the year was out, and more hopefully before the year was out.

Then DH got mono... so I just researched furiously for a few weeks.

I've been secretly planning our wedding since we met 😂 I started actively planning the day he said yes. I have changed soooo much since then. Everything was booked and paid for about a month after. We got engaged 7/4/19 and are getting married 7/4/20.

My husband and I were together for 8 years when we got engaged. At that point, I had lots of ideas of what I wanted on my wedding day. We got married just 8 weeks after getting engaged, so I was immediately planning! My husband found out he was going to be deploying and we always said we wanted to be married before that happened, if it did happen. So, we got married! I think because I had been planning it for a while before we actually got engaged and knew what I wanted, it made the process easier.

I think we started planning right away. We wanted to make sure we understood the tasks ahead of us and how to go about getting it all done without having our wedding turning into an added stress of our already crazy lives. It's really been more of a treat for us that we get to work on once the responsibilities of each day have been handled. This also makes it motivation to take care of everything each day so we can get to the fun part of planning our wedding! It's all about balance, right? Haha!

We actually started planning before the official proposal. We had discussed the idea of marriage before we asked and my head went a hit stir crazy after. He is truly the love of my life and I was so excited at the thought of marrying him I couldnt help but dream of smaller details. We started about 2 weeks after the official engagement to start on venue, food, and photography quotes and things like that.
