When did you actually start wedding planning?

How soon after the proposal did you start wedding planning? Did you dive right in the next day? Did you wait a little while to just enjoy being engaged? Did you it take you awhile to get the ball rolling? When did you start wedding planning? Photo from Precision Planning in Murray, NJ

I started planning three months after but this is so stressful. Everyone wants to give us opinions about dates and venue

I started planning the following year. My fiancé and I both agreed on the date and so it gave us more time to plan it out instead of rushing into it. Then again it is s very special day !

We got engaged 03/28/2019. The following weekend we started looking at possible dates and figured out our budget. Looked on line at a couple of venues but we haven't found the right location yet. Planning on sticking to the budget.

We got engaged last year in Christmas Eve. I knew the venue that I wanted and we wanted to get married in May or June 2020
after finishing college. We got waitlisted and found out in June an availability the end of May

I started planning immediately. To be honest, I started planning even before being engaged. My now fiancé and I had been dating for almost 6 years and I was getting extremely discouraged that he wasn’t proposing and I knew it had to be coming. I always knew what my vision was so it was easy for me to start planning. We had our venue booked within a week and I’m so glad we started looking so quickly because we really wanted and OCTOBER 2020 wedding and those dates fill up very fast. Some locations didn’t have any availability until end of November 2020. I chose my venue, photographer, videography and dj immediately because those were very important factors to me. Once those were booked I took a breath for a few months and then started meeting with florists. I booked my florist official about 6 months after we got engaged and they too were starting to book out (this is still more than a year before our wedding). I am now speaking with caterers and bakeries about 11 months out from our wedding and I have ran into issues with some of my top choices being book already for our October 3 2020 date. My biggest suggestion is that if you are having an October wedding, do everything early! If you are more into off season I don’t think there should be that much of a rush. Planning is stressful but also so fun and you should embrace it and enjoy every moment because you only get to do it once (hopefully LOL).

    Happy planning! Smiley smile

About a month a half after the proposal. I wanted to take my time to enjoy the proposal and that feeling but holidays were approaching aka engagement season so I had to leave the bubble and start planning.

We had been heavily talking about getting married before he even proposed so I use to look online at different venues. I've always had a pinterest full of stuff that I wanted if I ever got married. So I looked a lot of stuff before he even proposed. Once he proposed we went to look at venues the next day. We were both pretty excited. We also looked at apartments that same day. Now it's a month after and we've booked our venue and started our registry for our future new home.

We started planning a couple months after we got engaged - about 2.5 years before the wedding! Now we're at 5 months to go and having a stress-free wedding planning process because of it Smiley smile

I'm about a month into engagement and we just started laying down framework such as the budget, engagement photos, and we have been on 2 venue tours thus far. Our date is just over a year away, so I feel like getting started now is better than starting later.

I actually started planning my wedding before the actual proposal. He was telling me how he wanted to marry me & what he had in mind, so i started planning not knowing when he was going to ask. I just knew that I did not want to do last minute planning or paying.

We started planning a week after the engagement. Being together 8 years you pretty much have a good idea of what you want. We got engaged Aug 2019 getting married Aug 2020. Within first month we had venue, dj, photographer, and dress. We decided we didn't want a shower because we don't need more junk. Don't let everyone's options get you down cause FYI they get very annoying. This is about you and him. Nothing else matters. Alot of people are annoyed we aren't having a cake cutting or favors. Instead we are having plethora of desserts and food afterwards. (No one gives a crap about your votives)

We have just kind of been slowly planning as we can, but planning is hard when you don’t have the funds. We have an idea of what we want to do, but still have so much to plan. We have time though! 11/17/2021!

We waited a week (engaged on vacation) so we enjoyed our vacation first. But when we got home I started planning the location and big vendors, so we could have the season we wanted. Now (a about 2 months later) we are enjoying our engagement and taking a breather from planning. Nothing else is time sensitive 🤗👰👨‍💼

He didn't propose he just kind of was like well what is our wedding gonna be like and I think we could have our reception here and I started pricing 🤷🏿‍♀️. We been together for 14 years on and off he's always said we were going to get married though. But I started getting costs and then we picked a day.

I started planning right away, I figured there is no better time to start! I’d rather stress about it now than later

We got engaged about a month before I went back to college in late August. And we discussed we would wait till after the first semester was over before planning. So a few more weeks and I'll be for sure planning, but I'm going to a bridal expo next week!
