How soon after the proposal did you start wedding planning? Did you dive right in the next day? Did you wait a little while to just enjoy being engaged? Did you it take you awhile to get the ball rolling? When did you start wedding planning? Photo from Precision Planning in Murray, NJ

We got engaged on Oct. 27th Ohh this might be embarrassing lol. We gave ourselves 48 hours to be in the moment to bask everything in. Then it was game time. The date we wanted was next August 2020, and we didn't want time to slip by.

Congratulations on your wedding! Great to hear your insight. My fiancé and I are planning a long engagement due to grad school- but I was worried that I was over planning by getting started.

I started planning months before the proposal. I won a trip to antigua and we always discussed getting married on an island with our best friends. We decided that's what we were going to do. Now he has informed my best friend he will be doing a grand proposal before.

We set the dates and I knew the colors I wanted right away as well as our photographer. We were engaged in July and the only other thing I have gotten is my dress.

Thank you! I don't think there's such a thing as over planning Smiley sexy but I'm a huge planner! I love planning very early on so I'm not stressing later. But one thing I will say is that even though I'm planning like crazy, I think it's important to accept that not everything will go according to plan on your wedding day and you can't do anything about it then. That's another reason I'm planning as much as possible - to limit the hiccups - but they are inevitable!

We have been together for just about two years when he proposed. We waited a few months before wedding planning. I am currently in nursing school and he is almost done with his bachelor degree so we have a lot on our plate at the moment so we planned it two years out. The biggest this is booking all our vendors. Venue was my number one priority. We aren’t rushing. We love each other and that’s what matters right now. We are enjoying our longer engagement.

We started wedding planning months before the proposal. But I mean who doesn't have a Pinterest board youare constantly adding to when you're in your early teens.

I think we really sat down and started planning a couple of weeks to a month after. We already knew we'd be having a long engagement, a little under two years. So we have plenty of time to plan. We were together less than a year when we got engaged. We got engaged on my birthday in September, his birthday was in October, and our first year anniversay was in November. Such a fun time!

I looked at venues all over the country and international to get an idea of costs pretty immediately. Then, took months off until the end of summer where I started to consider where we really would get married. I booked a month ago for 2021. (definitely like to be ahead of the game and not worry about venue)

He proposed to me a few days before a church conference, so I was busy with that for a week then i got sick and we chose the date while I was sick, but didn't do any other planning till I was better so basically we were engaged for 2 or 3 weeks before we started doing stuff.

I started planning the next day! I had been looking at venues bc I know the proposal was coming soon. I emailed my dream venue the next day (Friday) and then made an appointment for the following Wednesday and put the deposit in on Sunday!

    We're planning before too.
I haven't officially been proposed to yet. But we made an agreement were when he is a few months out from asking he would take my grandmothers ring ( I didn't want him spending money on a new one when I had a perfectly good sentimental hierloom) and he took the ring a few weeks ago.
So we figure since it's inevitable to start planning.

I started looking at venues 2 months later and did not book anything. Started again with my mom and my sister and may book one this week since we had to get the marriage business taken care of like if we're filing taxes together and the prenup. Hopefully the prenup looks good and we can proceed with our venue this week.

After my fiancé proposed, we decided to wait 2 years until our wedding. We’re 3 days away from hitting our 1 year before the wedding and we have the church booked, the venue, and took our engagement photos last month. We enjoyed our engagement for a year and got the ball rolling this August! Counting the days now until we say I DO! 😊👰🏻🤵🏻

Been engaged since December 2016 & just started planning a few weeks ago. Didn't know when we wanted to get married or if we even wanted to do the traditional wedding. So, we randomly decided on a DW in Vegas in May 2020. Surprisingly very easy/stress-free so far.

I started planning the next day. By that, I mean putting together a notebook of ideas, lists, etc. I was just so excited. WE started planning about 2 weeks later.
