When did you actually start wedding planning?

How soon after the proposal did you start wedding planning? Did you dive right in the next day? Did you wait a little while to just enjoy being engaged? Did you it take you awhile to get the ball rolling? When did you start wedding planning? Photo from Precision Planning in Murray, NJ

I started thinking about what I wanted the next day. I didn’t start looking at venues and other things until about two months afterwards.

Haven’t yet, we’ve been engaged for about 2 months now. Trying to decide if we are moving so hard to plan a wedding when we don’t know where we are getting married. We are doing our engagement party now so that’s been fun!

I started right after we got engaged and it was so overwhelming so I stopped, lol and waited about three months ! But during that time I researched a little bit to get familiar!

We had actually started pre planning about 8 months before he proposed so we had a lot of things already decided once he did ask. We got engaged on our 29th birthday and decided to start planning right away, literally the next day we started making decisions. The following weekend I was able to book our venues for both ceremony and reception

I wanted to conquer wedding planning immediately after getting engaged. I bum rushed a ton of choices like colors, bridal party, budget, invitations, theme etc etc. Just things that seem like little details. What I wasn't prepared for was how difficult finding a venue would be, and also how we had so much going on in life and wedding planning took a back seat. I still researched things and collected items for my DIY projects, but I didn't really give it 100! Now with the new year and things settling after the holidays, we have committed to securing vendors the first half of the year!

We loosely discussed marriage planning several times about a year ago maybe. Mainly about how many people we’d have in our bridal party, what kind of wedding we’d like to have, etc. I started planning a little bit a day or so after he proposed (Christmas 2019) but I don’t think we will really start getting serious about planning until next month. Our wedding won’t be until summer 2021 so I think we can take our time a little

We got engaged in September 2017 and in the following weeks we started talking about dates! Once we decided on March 2019 and realized we would have an 18 month engagement, it was easier to relax and enjoy the engagement and pick up on planning (because I was too excited to wait anymore lol) that December 2017. Smiley smile

I didn't create a pinterest wedding board until 3 months after we got engaged, as that was when we went public with our engagement. But in terms of what I consider proper planning, ie. calling for quotes and looking for venues and services...we still haven't.

We started planning the night we got engaged lol

FH was on the phone asking his groomsmen that evening even though we did not have a date or location yet, he was just so excited. Smiley heart Smiley xd

ACTUAL PHYSICAL planning didn't happen for about 2 months as we got engaged the beginning of December 2018 and didn't start looking at any actual venues or plans until late January/early February.

We got engaged in June and we didn't start planning till September looking for venues. We have been together for 11 years so we knew we wanted to get married and we weren't sure when but we were house hunting for 8 months before and we got accepted two weeks after we got engaged so we got busy with the house so we said we would start mainly wedding planning in 2020. So July 10, 2021 is our date.

We we’re engaged last July and because it was right around my school break for my masters, I started looking, getting ideas and planning right away because I had the time. As of now, we’re at a stand still because we don’t have the $$ for a deposit on our venue, I don’t get my degree until May & currently work every other or every 3 weekends & we both still live with our parents. Basically, we’re at the point where it’s hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel that I’ll have a job shortly after I graduate & we’ll be able to afford everything in order it’s till have our wedding next year.😅😩

I got engaged december 19 2019, and I haven’t really started planning until now. This is the first time I’ve thought about how and what I’m going to do. For the most part, my decorations will be DIY with a florist helping with centerpieces and some aisle decor. I’ve chosen my venue, and I’ve looked through many others around this week. But for the most part I’ve just started.
