When did you buy your wedding shoes?

Nicole, on August 28, 2019 at 9:43 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 47
I found some gorgeous royal blue satin heels with a beautiful embellishment on the back of the heel, they are Badgley Mischka and they are on sale. I’m in love with them! However, my wedding is a year away. What would be your suggestions and what was your experience.

When did you buy your shoes? Should I wait? Do they get ugly over time? Should I just buy them and start breaking them?

Thank you in advance ❤️

I think I'm getting ballet flats. Frye has a couple of pairs that are cute. There's another pair that's like 800 Jimmy Choo or something ridiculous, but I think that's nuts.

I'd get them now if you like them. That way they won't sell out. You can start wearing them INSIDE for like 30 minutes at a time a few days a week. They'll break in, you'll learn to walk in them, and hopefully not even notice them on your wedding day

My wedding is a year away and I already bought my shoes. They are a beautiful burgundy flat that matches my dress PERFECTLY and it was on sale. I say never pass up on a deal if you love them.

They are 3.5” tall, which I think is an okay height. I’ve also considered block heels, but I haven’t found ones I like.

I was looking into ballerina flats from Jessica Simpson and I tried them on at Dillard’s and they felt great, super comfy and they are beautiful.

Thank you for the advice. Have a beautiful day ❤️

I wanted Kate Spade Keds and found my pair on poshmark! Someone else wore them for her wedding day and they’re still in near perfect condition

Perfect! I’m just a little concerned about the embellishment getting like rusty or something happens to the shoe material itself because of the time. I don’t know, I guess I’m just paranoid...you know weddings 👰🏼 😂

I’ve been looking at Poshmark too for the ballet flats. I found one so far. But I still haven’t decided if I want ballet flats or KS Keds. Ballet flats are cute and elegant but Keds are so cool and beautiful.

I was looking at those same shoes but then found these shoes off Lightinthebox.com for $45. They look about 4 weeks to come and run a size small but are so beautiful! They are 4” heels.

OMG! They are gorgeous! I love that pop of blue 💙. I’m going to check that website, I might find something. The ones I want are a dark blue, because my bouquet has navy blue accent flowers.

I tried this on in pink! They are so pretty! (Ignore my weird looking feet)

I was trying to find out what size I am with Badgley Mischka. Did you have to size up? Comfy?

I got mine about 2 months ago. My colors are royal blue and silver so they are perfect! They had a bunch of colors to pick from. If you do order them, just a warning they do stink for a couple days, probably from the dye, so put them in a room that they can air out in. After a couple days they were just fine! I wish I had ordered the size up as they are a bit tight in the toe but I make them work for the ceremony & then change into silver sparkly wedges!

I tried them on at Macy's. They are very pretty, but I really want blue. I would be ordering from Nordstrom, so if anything goes wrong I can return them. My main concern is the width of my feet (they are a little big, teehee!). It looks like I'm an size 8 in the pink ones. I'll still take a look at the website you mentioned to see if I can find the ones I want a little cheaper.

I got engaged December 2018 - My wedding is October 2020 - I bought my shoes February 2019 (right after i bought my dress)! Granted, i originally was trying for an October 2019 wedding, but yeah it was my 2nd purchase (the first was my dress) in my wedding planning, buy the shoes that feel right to you when you see them. You'll know them. If you do feel like you will change your mind then wait, but honestly, you'll have SO MUCH stuff to buy during these planning months, that whenever you have the chance and extra dollars to buy stuff just get it when you can, so that you can cross it off your list. if the shoes you choose are need breaking in maybe do that a little bit in your house...otherwise i'd suggest just putting them somewhere safe and count the days til you get to wear them! Plus, if you wait too long they might not be around when you DO want to buy them.

Thank you for your reply. I sometimes feel like I’m rushing buying things and preparing but like you just said there is so much to buy that when you find it just get it. I’m a natural over-thinker so sometime I second guess myself.

My wedding is 1 y and 3 month away and I’ve had family tell me to take it slow that there’s still time...and my brain is like “There’s no time, JUST DO IT!”

Totally understand! Try wrapping them in acid free paper to retain the moisture balance then keep them in a box. They should be fine.
