A lot of designers can take at least 8 months to get the dress to you. I'd start looking in April of 2022.

If you are going the Davids Bridal route they do have faster ship times as they are mass produced.

I went shopping 8 months before my wedding and since I picked an Allure dress I bought the sample or it wouldn't have been in on time.

Normally you don't order until 8-10 months out. I was told to start looking a year out for my October 22 wedding because of shipping delays. but still ended up getting my dress in half the time they expected. I'd say at the earliest wait until a year out and ask the shops around you how long they're expecting shipping to take at that time and go from there!

I agree with everyone. At least 8-10 months. The reason for this is because of the chance that you may have to order your dress online if they do not have it available in store. And then alterations. I only had to alter my dress one time. My friend had to alter hers twice because she was losing weight before her wedding day. Smiley smile Also take into consideration that 2022 is going to be a BUSY year for weddings so just keep in mind that some stores and boutiques may have a slight shortage on gowns.

I think starting to look at around a year - you can start to look earlier if you have somewhere you can store the dress and are a decisive person though! I bought mine 15 months out, and then we postponed due to covid so will have bought my dress 21 months before the day, and there's not been any issue with storing it or anything. Plus, my alterations were supposed to take 3 months, so it can take quite a while, depending on what you want or need done - people often forget to factor that in and I'd prefer to give myself plenty of buffer than panicking I wouldn't have enough time!

I would say 12-10 months out. I was told by bridal boutique that many designers are expecting production and shipping delays. The wedding industry is booming and will continue into 2022. So give yourself time. Plus 2-4 months for alterations.

You can start looking anytime but your tastes will change over time. Don’t purchase until 10 months before the wedding at the earliest. Do not settle..the dress you don’t want to take off at all will be the one and don’t let others pick for you or pressure you into a certain style. There are many posts here by past brides who picked the first or 3rd dress they trued on that they didn’t really like and way too early, and have had difficulty trying to get money back to buy a new one.
