When do most leave for their honeymoon?

My fiance and I are getting married on a Saturday. We wanted to go to Mexico for our honeymoon. Our predicament is, do we leave that following Monday or wait a week and go the next weekend? Any input is greatly appreciated. Also how long do most take off of work for their wedding/honeymoon?

Oh my goodness wait the week! We waiting almost and month and it is truly a blessing! My cousin left the next day and she regrets it so much!!! Planning/packing for a wedding and a honeymoon at the same time...no way! You'll remember you're honeymoon over you're wedding, too to be honest. So it's most important! The whole wedding week and day of you'll be exhausted! You don't want to leave exhausted for your trip! No fun! Plus family will be in town that you honestly won't even see, so spend time with them! And we took off 3 days before wedding and then were gone 17 days total for honeymoon.

That's totally up to you guys to decide. Me, personally, I would leave the next day. As long as we are clear with our work schedules and we have the money to travel, we will leave the next day. This is up to you to decide.

We will be heading to the airport about 12 hours after our ceremony ends. We are leaving on a disgustingly early flight the very next day.

Hey, Christina, we left the next day, and it was terrific. FWIW, my stepmother once mentioned that her honeymoon with my dad was delayed several weeks (something about 'sailing season') and that it felt really weird to go back to work Monday, after the rush and excitement.

Were getting married on a Saturday with the wedding being from 4-11. Then were flying out the next morning at 7 am...at least were staying at the airport hotel on our wedding night so we won't have to go far Sunday morning!
