"When I dip, you dip, we dip" but seriously, how do you do "the dip" picture?

Whitta, that sounds stunning!! Did you already BAM? I would love to stalk your pictures lol!

Two of my favorite pictures are dip pictures! I think the key is for them to be real...

Here are two we have. I don't love either of them, but I do like the way my dress looks in the wedding photo.

Well... I'm not married yet, but FH and I did a dip picture in Jamaica it is awkward to get the position just right, but soo worth it.

My husband and I will usually demonstrate the pose then walk them through it if this is on their list. Long flowing dresses are very forgiving of "awkward leg."

I'll be honest. DH surprised me with a dip photo when he kissed after we were announced husband and wife. I was kinda ticked. Because I wasn't expecting it I was thinking it was going to turn out super awful and I didn't want our first kiss photo to be awkward. It ended up turning out fine but just make sure your FH does not do this! If he does practice it beforehand.

I have found I much prefer the pictures where the girl does not bend her leg that is lifted up. Either keep it straight or on the floor and just bend with your back. Ours was not planned- he just dipped me at the end of our first dance and I have my leg bent & I don't like it at all, but it was spur of the moment & it was fun- just not a frame worthy picture.

We tried doing a dip picture at our e-pic shoot because the worst that could happen is that we didn't like the picture. We took a couple pictures where I'm dipped more than this, and then we took a couple where I'm reaching up to kiss him. I love how this picture came out. I don't know if other people think it looks awkward, but I love it.

Ours is pretty awkward looking IMHO. Wasn't our idea.

Some dip pics WILL be awkward! We are generally not comfortable in front of a camera, our photographer tried to have us do it, but when you're thinking too much about it (and never did anything like that before) it definitely shows! DH's posture is so stiff, and he's trying to kiss me but I'm literally open mouth laughing in his face because I was like "HAHAHATHISISWEIRD!!" It's ALMOST cute, but misses the mark. It's a little sad, I'm super jealous of every one else's natural, spontaneous dips!

We dipped, I agree these are normally pretty awkward lol.
