When is it too late to send out thank you cards?

Anonymous, on October 31, 2011 at 7:40 PM Posted in Married Life 0 11

Just out of curiosity... when is it too late to send these out? It's been 2 months but I've been swamped. I know asap is the key, but realistically... doesn't look like it'll happen any time soon.

Just get them out as soon as you can. Earlier is better than later, but later is better than never.

Sorry about jumping to conclusions before. We've had a lot of people come in lately who only ever make one post, and it's about a specific vendor. You might want to change to a different photo for your icon. That's one way that the regulars here recognize others as not being vendors or trolls.

Either I've drank too much "Dancing Juice" and gorged out on too much Halloween Candy, but um... this thread doesn't make sense!!

@Meghan R.: This thread started out being on a completely different subject, and I thought Kelley was a vendor. So she's changed the topic of the original post, and I've changed my response, which makes her response to my response look weird.

Is that all clear as mud? LOL

Ok! I put my drink down, the kids took all the candy.... so my answer --

You need to send them out ASAP. But what is so busy in your life that you can't set aside 30 minutes each day to write out Thank You notes?

It takes me 5-10 minutes to do one, so the Fiance and I can knock them out 6-8 a night.

My mom is a stickler for Thank You notes. If she doesn't get one from the wedding, she doesn't get them a Baby gift.

Late is better than never. Send them out. You can even note that, in the card, if you want to. Something like "I really wanted to send this card to you earlier. Time got away from me."

I'm a teacher with 200 kids to take care of everyday... little do people know, teaching doesn't end at 3PM everyday =(. I'm thinking one more month and it'll all be done. We're attaching photos with every card and a personal message. Thanks for the advice! I think I'll make it a goal to get them done by this week. I will definitely attach a "sorry" note!

Yes, my mom is a teacher, my dad an administrator... what do you do on the weekends? My engineer Fiance and I have spent a lot of time lately studying for an 8-hour exam we took Friday. I still managed to squeeze out a couple Thank You cards.

Robyn- I hear ya! I sent two wedding presents this year. Never got a thank you from the one in June. At least it's made me realize that I'll have to make it a priority.

I know I'm terrible at sending thank you cards but this time we were so good! We sent them out within two weeks of the wedding! I've never been more proud! I think the fact that we had a groupon that was about to expire coupled with the fact that I was in love with our concept totally helped too lol
