When Should i Buy Candy For Favors?

Tanya, on April 22, 2021 at 2:26 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 1 4
Our wedding is in October and O am doing our own favors. I’m filling plastic stars with 3 different colors of Jelly Belly jelly beans. How soon can I purchase the candy? I am afford if I get it too soon it will go bad or melt in the summer heat. If I get them too late I don’t have time to come up with a backup plan. Any advice is appreciated.

I would probably buy them around 1-2 months ahead of time. That way, it leaves you enough time to fill the plastic stars without being rushed, but also is close enough to your wedding to where the candy won't spoil.

As long as it’s not chocolate, you can buy it any time and it will be fine because sugar lasts forever. Store it in a cool dark place.

I had a candy bar too at my wedding and i remember getting it around after valentines day for sales haha. my wedding was in june so that was around 3-4 months ahead for the non-chocolate ones. keep them in a nice area that is cool for storage.

my advice is to definitely catch the sales for after holidays!

1-2 months ahead sounds good to me. Since you said October end of August or start of September and keep in a cool area (since I’m not sure what a warm jelly bean will taste like) lol
