When should i send my invites?

on April 24, 2021 at 5:00 PM Posted in Planning 0 11
Hi everyone! My rescheduled Covid wedding (part 2) is coming up on July 25th. We had an immediate-family only wedding last year and took our time to reschedule the big one. We sent a save the date in March because no one really knew what our rescheduled plans were. (We were supposed to get married 8/1/20 but postponed due to Covid and didn’t want to announce a new date too early.) I was excited so I ordered the invites and they’re ready to go. My RSVP date is June 26th. Should I send them soon to give people time to plan ahead? Or should I wait?

We’re also asking that all of our guests are vaccinated (husband’s request) so I thought maybe it would be good to send it soon so people can plan? What do you all think?

Send save the dates (either post cards or phone calls) at 6 months and invites at 6-8 weeks before the wedding. That is what gives guests a heads up. No one can definitively say yes or no before 4weeks which is when most employers grant time off. There is no reason to send them earlier than 6-8weeks because they will be lost and forgotten.

Vaccine announcements would be best given via phone call and on your website.

Do guests know they need to be vaccinated? If not, I’d send them now so they have time to get that done if they want.

That’s the thing—it’s posted on our website and I know some have read that but I don’t think everyone has checked out site. Thanks for your input!

Follow up with phone calls to your VIPs to make sure they know. Don’t rely on everyone paying attention to the website.

I’m the same date. I’m planning to send mine at the very end of May/beginning of June and they’ll be due around 7/10 or 11 since I need to give final numbers a week before and still enough time to follow up with any stragglers. I do see that you want all guests to be vaccinated. Perhaps mail them out the beginning of May? That’s quite in advance, around 12 or 13 weeks, but given your request it may be a good idea.

I’m getting married the same week and I sent my invitations out a week ago. The mail system is operating at a much slower place and it’s gives those traveling out of state enough time to buy plane tickets and arrange hotel accommodations.

I also want to have my rsvps in early so I can start getting our favors together.

I’m also getting married the same week lol (on Friday, July 23rd). I’ll be sending them out early June. I need my final guest count 2 weeks before (the 9th) so I put my rsvp date as July 2nd so, I’ll have a week to call the people that missed the rsvp date.

I am getting married 7/24 and plan to send my invites no later than 8 weeks prior. However, I have had a few people call me to verify the date, so was wondering if I should send them earlier. It seems people are making more vacation plans this year.
