When should i share my registry?

Samantha, on April 12, 2019 at 7:54 PM Posted in Registry 0 12
Hey everyone! I am getting married on August 31st and I got my wedding registry all set up. Is it too soon to share it with everyone I invited? I don't want to share it too soon.

How would you share it? Usually it goes on a shower invitation if you’re having one or a wedding website.

Yes and they would put it on the shower invitations. It would only go there, not your wedding invites.

I knew that they just never asked so I felt strange saying.

You can put it on your website whenever you want, but you don’t need to contact people to let them know where you’re registered. How are you planning to share it?

I was planning on sharing on my website then on the invites as well. I just dont know if it's too soon to put it on there since the wedding is 4 months away

You shouldn’t mention anything about registering or gifts on your invitation. Four months out is definitely not too early to put it on your website.

For generations, people have figured out wedding registries. If I know someone is getting married, I Google their name and can usually pretty easily find the registry online and/or their wedding website. Agree with others that when the hosts of a shower (not the bride) send out those invitations they can include the registry info. It should never be anywhere on the invitation. If people ask you if/where you're registered, you can of course tell them. There is no need to "announce" a registry, and if someone were to do that, it could end up looking really tacky to some who see the announcement (like, LITERALLY, asking for gifts...). (Daughter has an old acquaintance who posted her baby registry on FB.... That did not go over well.)

I put it on my wedding website when I created it months ago. If guests stumble upon it, cool. If not, no big deal. My MOH asked me where I was registered, so I'm assuming she'll get the word out as well.

I had my registry ready to go before we sent STDs, and included that information on our website which was on the STD. So people were able to access my registries at 8 months out.

I'm getting married the same day and I've had my wedding registry on our website since I created it since we have a lot of out of town family. My sister also included it on the invitation for my bridal shower, otherwise I just tell people when they ask me.
