When to book a photographer??

Our photographer was super important to me, so we booked her 14 months out.

Okay, it's super important to me and we are about 12 months out. I have found the photographer we want...I think...just have to officially book and pay a deposit!

We booked ours 9 months out, but we are also having a Sunday wedding so we knew vendors wouldn't be as in demand for our day. If you're getting married on a Saturday I'd recommend doing it at least a year out, if it's super important to you!

If you found the one you want I'd go for it and book! Do you have your venue booked for your date? The only reason I'd tell you to hold off on the photographer is if you didn't have a venue confirmed yet

It really seems to depend on how in demand your desired photographer is. We booked ours about 16 months out, a couple of weeks after we secured our venue. She was the first vendor we booked after we had our date reserved. We probably could have waited tbh, but I don't see a reason to sit on it after your date is set.

We got engaged June 20, 2018 and booked our photographer about a month later for our June 14, 2019 wedding.

We booked in September 2018 for our October 2019 wedding

Photographer was the second thing we booked (venue was the 1st). We booked our photographer in January and are getting married in October. Photographers do tend to book quickly, so I would book sooner rather than later.

Photographer was the second vendor we booked. The venue was the 1st. As soon as we settled on the venue, we began interviewing photographers and we booked our desired photographer just over 13 months out.

We just booked ours last night even though we’re 16 months away. We just really wanted this photographer and I got worried since I got quotes from other places and they were already booked for our day.
