When to get nails done?

So, dumb-ish question... when do you suggest having your bridal nails done?? I'm getting married next Friday and wanted to have my mani/pedi done on Thursday so they're as fresh and nice as possible, however, my mom is insisting I have them done on Wednesday. We have our rehearsal Thursday late...

So, dumb-ish question... when do you suggest having your bridal nails done??

I'm getting married next Friday and wanted to have my mani/pedi done on Thursday so they're as fresh and nice as possible, however, my mom is insisting I have them done on Wednesday. We have our rehearsal Thursday late morning followed by a luncheon, so she's worried we'll get hung up at the rehearsal and may not make the nail salon appointment in time, but I'm worried if I go Wednesday that my nails won't be as nice by Friday. I am getting the gel polish done, which is a little tougher and lasts longer, but I'm still worried lol maybe I'm just ridiculously overthinking things.

But tell me... how many days in advance are you all having your nails done? Thanks for the input!

I think having them done that wednesday is fine. Depending on the shape of my cuticles and such, my nails tend to be a little sore the same day. So having them done a couple days before should be fine. I use a dremel at work so i'm making sure to take off a few days before the wedding so I don't mess up my nails lol

I say that Wednesday because I’m getting married July 23, 2019 that’s on a Tuesday so I was thinking about getting mine done on that Saturday before.

Getting married on a Saturday and will be getting nails done on Thursday afternoon. Don't overthink it, your nails will be fine and if something by chance happens I'm sure you would have a little time to got get it fixed.

I've tried the impress once they were a little short for my nail bed, but they always have super cute nails! For the wedding I used the kiss jewel fantasy in medium length & they were perfect! It definitely made me consider using them all the time! Lol

We get married next Saturday. (squee!) My nail appointment is scheduled for the day before at noon. I like a very fresh nail for big events.

I think it all depends on what time your appointment is and what time all your other plans are as well. I don’t think having them done Wednesday would be a big problem. Personally I get too overwhelmed trying to do so much in one day so I would do it Wednesday rather than Thursday. But it’s up to you if you want to do it Thursday then do it Thursday

I'm either going to do mine Thursday evening before my Sunday wedding, or Friday afternoon if I can get off work a few hours early!

I'm also doing gel, from my experiences, gel lasts at least a week looking completely perfect, so I definitely wouldn't worry about a day or two. Worst case scenario if it chips you can always go back in and have them do a quick touchup and that won't take long. But in my experiences the gel has never chipped within the first week.

If you're getting gel anyway, one or two days before won't make a huge difference. I'm doing mine the day before, but that's only because we're getting married on Saturday and I took Friday off work. I couldn't justify taking part of Thursday off too just for nails, but it would have made Friday a lot less stressful.

Do whatever makes you comfortable - if the time crunch is going to stress you out, then schedule 2 days before. Or if potentially messing up your nails or not having them as fresh is going to be the bigger stresser, then just make it work and get them done the day before. Either way though, they'll be beautiful!

I am with you, I would want to do them on Thursday if I was you. My wedding is on a Friday, I am doing them myself so I don't have to worry about an appt but I am doing them on that Thursday evening, the night before.

Our wedding is new years day, so my mother and I will go the 29rh or 30th. I do the dip nails, so could probably do them a whole week ahead and they'd still look great. Highly recommend them!

I’m soooo anal about my nails so I’ll be getting them done the night before. Gel polish can last long so long as you have a great technician who uses good quality products.

With gels, you'll be fine a few days before. With regular nail polish, I can chip it before I've even gotten home from the salon.

Yes, I think you are overthinking things.

I'm getting my nails done the day before. BUT, you'll be fine doing them two days before!

It's my 3 day weekend (Friday - Sunday off + wedding is Saturday) at work that's the only reason I'm getting them done on Friday.

I am doing mine myself, too. I will probably do them (wraps) the morning of the rehearsal/day before the wedding just so they have a better chance of staying on. I'll add a layer or two of clear polish over them to keep them protected.

I'm getting mine done on the 24th before we fly out. I took the whole day off so I can make sure everything is packed and my nails can be done lol. We don't fly out till almost 8 at night so I'll have time. The ceremony is on the 27th. I do the dip so I'm not worried at all that they won't still look nice by Saturday.
