When to Get Nails Done

Alexandra, on March 2, 2020 at 11:34 PM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 15
Hello everyone!
We are leaving for our Vegas wedding on March 10. The Saturday before, on March 7, FH's family and I are all going out to get pedicures. I need to get my nails done, too. Is a week before too long before the wedding to get them done? I wanted acrylic nails since I've never had an issue with them chipping and they last awhile. Getting them done in Vegas isnt really sn option because of our busy schedule while were there.

I think an entire week before may be too long. A lot can happen in a week. If that’s the only day that you can then of course do it. But I’d try to push for as close to the date as possible since you’ll be taking pictures and especially if your leaving soon after for your honeymoon

The closest I could do it would be Monday, March 9. We also won't be leaving for our honeymoon until November due to us both being in school so no worries there!

In my experience, a week before and my nails grow out 🙈 it's better to do it closer to the date of your wedding if at all possible.

I do dip. And I'll probably go 4 days before at the earliest. Just due to growth.

Get gel nails. They last for a month minus the growth at your nail bed.

    Hi Alexandra,
I think most salons would recommend getting your nails done 2 days before, but if you absolutely can't, I would agree with Liz, get the gel polish, I've worn it a lot lately, and I can go 10 days easily without chipping! Here's what I'm doing for my wedding nails. When to Get Nails Done 1

Gel with acrylic would work but since it is just nails that I would feel comfortable getting my nails done as opposed to make up and hair in a different place. Could you do them there?

I'm getting my gel nails done 2 days before I get married.

I did my acrylics on Thursday for our Saturday wedding. Typically I'm fine after a week but I prefer 1-4 days before for big events.

I got mine done the Sunday before our Friday wedding. I also did acrylic (even though I never do them regularly) because I am so hands on that normal polish doesn't last for me. Mine lasted wonderfully and are only now starting to show some wear, four days after the wedding.

I think it depends on how fast your nails grow. Mine grow pretty quickly so I am going to try and do it about 3 days out.

I think at the most I would go 3 days before the wedding or try to fit in an appt in the city your wedding is in...

I agree with most. At least 2 days before. A week is a very long time
