When to Have Bridal Shower?

Shannon, on March 17, 2019 at 6:20 PM Posted in Parties and Events 0 9

Hello!

We are getting married on March 28th, 2020. With the holidays and everything, we are planning on sending out our wedding invitations at the end of January. However, we are unsure when to have our bridal shower so that it doesn't conflict with the holidays, poor weather (from New England), and doesn't get sent out at the same time as our wedding invitations.

Any thoughts & ideas are welcome. Thank you! Smiley smile

I'm having my shower a month before so I'd say have it in February. But if you are super concerned about weather you could even do it in November there's not really any defined time on which you should have it.

My shower will be in June for my November wedding because that's the time that worked best. I don't think you need to have it in the winter if you don't want.

I was blessed to have 3 showers. One hosted by my assistant at work. One hosted by my BP and another hosted by my mother, sister and MIL. My mother, sister and MIL hosted the first one in September. All guests were my female family members. About two weeks later, my BP hosted a shower inviting all my close friends. The final one was at work (and a complete surprise) and was held my last day at work which was 2 weeks before the wedding.

I’m having 2 (cause some people can’t get along so we had to plan 2 it also makes things easier instead of having to plan for so many ppl). One is in August and one is in October (maybe November haven’t decided on a exact date yet) and we get married in Jan 2020. I’m having all my parties at crazy times (not all by “the book” cause of other events and holidays!) make it when you want!! It’s your party!! Make sure you are happy!! Good luck and congratulations!!!

My shower is a few days shy of one month from my wedding day. I wanted to sent out my invites, then send out the shower invites so they'd know they were invited to the wedding first. I think you could have your shower whenever is the easiest though - there's no real rule as far as I know.

My shower is in May for my June wedding, 7 weeks before the wedding day. I wanted it to be a little closer so it would be nicer out - I'm also in New England.

I would think a November shower or a January or February shower would be fine, or even early December. I'd just plan on having it inside.

I am in the same boat; we're getting married 3.20.20 & I'm leaning towards a November shower... I'm in NJ (not as bad as New England) & the weather is quite unpredictable.
