When to order fake flowers?

Malwen107, on June 12, 2018 at 9:05 AM Posted in Planning 0 15

Those of you who are using fake flowers, when did you order them? Our wedding is in October and I want to start designing centerpieces, bouquets, etc. How long did you have/store your flowers before the wedding?

Thanks!

I ordered my fake bouquets and bouts 143 days before the wedding and received them with 136 to go 🙂 I did so far in advance for a couple reasons: I needed a set color scheme, no chances for them not getting here or something wrong and lastly I just was way too excited! I think ordering them now is a great idea! Lots of time to make and play with your decor!

Awesome! Thank you! This makes me feel better haha. I don't want to be over eager, but I want to make sure whatever I get is a good fit.

I got my bridesmaids bouquets already because I fell in love with these giant flowers. I figured it was ok since they are fake lol!

My wedding is in September, I bought some flowers a few months from Hobby Lobby to do trial runs. I need to order more though. Right now what I bought is hanging out in my attic

October bride also. I'll be ordering ours in the next couple of weeks. I need to check out our venues one last time to double check the picture in my head versus the real thing.

I would imagine that, as lon as you have space to store them, you could order artificial flowers as early as you desire. The earlier you receive your flowers, the more time you have to arrange them. Happy planning!

I started ordering mine in February! Lol but only because some of the ones I wanted would take up to 6 weeks or so to get here and I wanted enough time to return them if they were damaged or didn't look right. But I have them all now and with 4 months to go I'm ready to start putting arrangements together! They're so pretty, have fun shopping!

I ordered mine about a year and two months in advance! However, I had fallen in love with the flowers and didn't want that Etsy seller to go out of business before I ordered or something. I'm glad I ordered that early, because they took about 4 months to create and then send.

November bride here. I haven't purchased any flowers yet, as I'm still not 100% sure on which flowers I want, lol. I go to AC Moore, Michael's and Joanns often to see what they have, but I haven't purchased anything yet. The only flowers I'm dead set on are sunflowers........

I should probably stop procrastinating and get some to do a trial bouquet....

I think the huge plus with ordering fake flowers is you can really order them at anytime you want. Of course hopefully if you can a week before. With real flowers you have to order a days before the wedding! I ordered some from Hobby Lobby online and got them in about 4 days. Their main warehouse is in Oklahoma and I am in Texas so not sure if that has to do with the timeliness of them arriving.

I just recently made a centerpiece with the ones I got and posted it on here. I would say if you can go by Hobby Lobby first and see what they have. They always have sales on florals . Whatever you do not see in the store then look online. I would only go to Michaels if you prefer to go there and purchase florals that you didn’t see at Hobby Lobby because Michaels cost more but usually has more in stock. There is also the website called Afloral.com. To me they seem to have the kind of florals that are hard to find in stores or on other online websites.

I would say say depending on how much you have to get done, if it’s a lot space it out from now up until the week of the wedding. I wish real flowers were like this but they are not. So because I plan to use real flowers I still need to do a trial run on how long it takes to put everything together since I will only have the week of to get everything together! Wish you the best with your floral shopping and please post pics so we can see your beautiful masterpieces!

I already have some of my flowers for August 2019 because I am the eagerest beaver. That's the beauty of silk flowers!

My wedding is in January and my bouquets are done.

I ordered all of my flowers and greenery from afloral.com

All of our centerpieces are going to be real greenery we are going through a florist for.

If youre doing everything including centerpieces, I'd recommend starting soon so you don't get frustrated and have time to arrange them how you want.

Afloral.com has the highest quality and they have sales often.

My bouquet looks real from about 5 ft away.

My wedding is still over a year out and I have been ordering flowers a few at a time for months now.

I started buying one or two here and there just to see if I liked them before Buying the full amount. (Smart because I have gotten a few that I will definitely not be buying any more of) Now that I know what flowers I like, I watch for sales and buy them in batches of 20-30, and will continue to do so until I feel i have enough. This allows me to pay for them over time instead of having one big fat flower bill, and It also gives me lots of time to play with arrangements with FH (he actually enjoys doing it with me).

We will be using real flowers for the bouquets/ boutonnieres/ corsages. I am just using fake flowers for the decor.

I'm thinking of using Afloral! Do you have any pictures of your bouquets you made?
